Apple has now debuted its new plan to offer same-day delivery to its loyal tech customers, but only on a few select products online and in specific zip codes. The “courier delivery” is now being used to allow the consumer to have their order within four hours after it has been ordered. Apple is now bringing a technology industry first to guarantee faster shipping services for their online store. Previously, the tech giant only offer full guaranteed shipping with higher fees for next-day shipping if ordered before noon.
The company stated the four-hour time period from purchase to delivery will come with a $19 charge, $2 more than next-day delivery. Apple has made a deal with Postmates, a same-day delivery service dealing with bigger markets around the U.S., to be their main courier service for this trial run.
Only a few select items will be available for this service on Apple’s online store. Even though the new shipping option is only available for a limited number of online products and in few zipcodes, more options may be coming from Apple in the coming years.
