Billionaire real estate and investment mogul Donald Trump stated on Saturday he will announce his possible 2016 presidential run on June 16. Trump told the crowd this at the Republican convention in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Trump said he believes many people are going to be happy with decision, but that may only infer he will official run. The businessman has referred to his potential Republican opponents as “clowns” over the past few months. He has already hired a staff to create a presidential exploratory committee with offices in key primary states.
He said for all people who ask him why he is running for president, he tells them, “so we can make America great again.” The Republican presidential hopeful came out on top of a Quinnipiac poll in May against New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, one of the top potential candidates for the 2016 ticket.
Trump also topped the “no way” part of the poll, with 21 percent of Republicans stating they would absolutely not support him in the upcoming election. The presidential hopeful stated to reporters that he believes he will be a much better leader than Hilary Clinton, the Democratic front runner for the 2016 election season.
