This new blockbuster has all the makings of an action-packed summer hit. The IMF team is back to take on a new enemy. Of course, the main megastar behind the series, Tom Cruise, is reprising his iconic role as Ethan Hunt. A cast full of stars, including Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner, and Ving Rhames, returns to take on their former roles.

New to the series’s team this time is the mega-celebrity, Alec Baldwin. Another newcomer is rising-star Rebecca Ferguson as the lead female character, Ilsa. Ferguson is best known for her role as Queen Elizabeth in the Starz series The White Queen.

MissionThe newest chapter is directed by Brad Bird. He is returning following his success with Ghost Protocol. He took over the series from famed director J.J. Abrams after Mission Impossible 3. Besides Ghost Protocol, Bird is best known for directing the Pixar blockbuster, The Incredibles, and Ratatouille. His most recent release was Disney’s Tomorrowland.

This time around the IMF team must take on the impossible task of defeating the Syndicate. The Syndicate is a group of specially trained killers with the main goal of taking out IMF. The two teams are equally skilled deeming the feat impossible. It will be an epic battle of eat or be eaten.

Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation brings with it all the promised action scenes fans have come to expect. There are several epic stunts that are particularly characteristic of Hunt. No one can forget his daring jump from the Burj Khalifa in Dubai from Ghost Protocol. This time around, he will be hanging on the side of an Airbus A400, taking off for flight desperately trying to get inside.

Fans need not fret. Naturally, there is an action packed car chase included in the film, involving Cruise and Pegg. These are only a couple of the high-intensity action scenes the trailers make promises of. The Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation installment in the franchise advertises itself as the next action-packed summer blockbuster for sure.

The franchise to date has done exceptionally well since the first Mission: Impossible movie nearly 20 years ago. The highest grossing film in the series so far has been Ghost Protocol, earning $694,713,231 worldwide. Mission: Impossible 2 followed close behind taking in $549,588,516. It is among the top 25 highest grossing movie franchises with only four installments released to date. A number of the franchises surpassing this one include many more movies, such as the expansive Pixar collection and the Star Wars series.

With thrilling car chases and loads of action packed stunts, the latest installment of the series promises to keep fans on the edge of their seats. Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation is expected to be the next huge summer blockbuster in the successful franchise.
