The beloved series of man-nerds across the world, welcomes back Bran Stark the Warg, who returns in season six of the popular series Game of Thrones. The show recently earned 24 Emmy nominations, surpassing its own record of 19 for the fantasy drama. Bran Stark was on hiatus for season five, and many fans wanted to know if the son of Eddard had vanished for good. The actor Issac Hempstead Wright, who plays Stark, confirmed that the young prophet will be returning.
Bran Stark made his debut in the first George R.R. Martin novel Song of Ice and Fire, that tells the story of a barbaric civil war among noble houses. The show is driven by its power struggles, betrayals, plot twists and of course the Mother of Dragons, Daenerys Targaryen. Bran Stark is a noble boy living with his family in Winterfell. He lost his legs after being pushed out of a tower window by Jaime Lannister after discovering his relationship with Cersei Lassiter. Stark piggybacks on the side of his companiontaxi, Hodor.
The show runner of the series, David Benioff, said that Bran’s season long absence while he develops his Warg skills, is like Luke Skywalker’s training exercises with Yoda. Hempstead’s character is a Warg, meaning that he can see through the eyes of his pet direwolf while he sleeps. Wargs, are people who possess the mystical power of greensight, prophetic vision.
In Season 4, the last appearance of the second son of Lady Catelyn, Bran entered the mind of Summer and found a Ghost, the direwolf of Thrones most recognized warrior John Snow. He then met a Raven that told him that he would never walk again, but that he will fly. Many fans rushed to Twitter, the kingdom of whispers and gossip, and tweeted the character had gotten lost in its overwhelming black hole of narratives. The return of Baren Stark the Warg in Season Six of Thrones, should clear the clouds in his hometown of Westeros.
The Game of Thrones debuted in 2011, to mixed reviews but has become a phenomenon among Dungeon and Dragon aficionados. The show’s popularity skyrocketed in season three, after it broke the internet with its Red Wedding massacre. The show has also been the most illegally downloaded show in the last couple of years of its existence. The series is on track to being the most pirated cable series of all time. The ever-changing plot twists and blood baths are legendary.
After meeting the Three-Eyed Raven, the actor Hempstead, said that he has not even seen season five, because he was too busy with his exams. Hempstead made his debut on the show when he was just 12 years old. The young actor, now 16, said that he wants to star as Marvel’s teen version of Ironman, since he has done a great job with Bran Stark.
The return of Bran Stark the Warg to Game of Thrones season six, is expected to shatter its previous ratings. The series has been labeled a big nerd-out by many critics. It has taken the series five seasons to catch up to George R.R. Martin’s legendary books, but the show runners will definitely make sure that no one will see the carnage coming, unless Bran Stark sees it first.
