Ali Khamenei Calls the US Satan and Predicts the Fall of Israel by 2040

Ali Khamenei
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the theocratic leader of Iran has labelled the US as the Greatest Satan and predicted the fall of Israel by 2040, according to reports.    Khamenei, made these comments on his personal website and on Twitter post this past Wednesday. The comment comes against the backdrop of polarized opinions on the recent American brokered nuclear deal with Tehran.

“Firstly, you will not see 25 years; God willing, there will be nothing of the Zionist regime by the next 25 years.  Secondly, until then, struggling, heroic and jihadi morale will leave no moment for Zionists,” the quote stated.

Reports suggest that the comments came against a backdrop of a photograph showing Khamenei walking on an Israeli’s flag on the side walk.  In a published statement, Ali Khamenei declared, “We approved talks with the US on nuclear issue specifically.  We have not allowed talks with the US in other fields and we will not negotiate with them.”

Iran’s Supreme leader continued his blunt rhetoric against the US.  He contended that the US has evil intentions against his country. Khamenei further explained that any negotiations with America will not go beyond the agreed nuclear deal.  He quoted the founder of the Islamic Republic his predecessor, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, tweeting that the “US is the Great Satan, some insist on depicting this Great Satan as an angel.”  He went on to add that the nuclear deal brokered by the Obama administration does not mean that Iran will, “….talk with the US in other fields…”

The Supreme leader, who cautiously endorsed the much debated nuclear deal, is of the view that any talks with the US is a, “tool for penetration and imposing their demands.”

Iran has long shown its disrespect of Israel and continues to support militant anti-Israel groups like the Hamas in Palestine.  Khamenei’s comments on Israel were greeted with a frown by Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.  Upon his arrival in London, Netanyahu pointed out that “Ali Khamenei does not even leave any agreement to fantasize in,” The Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with the British Prime Minister David Cameronon on September 10. Ali Khamenei’s characterization of the US as Satan, and his prediction of the fall of Israel by 2040  will likely heighten the already strained relationship Iran has with Tel Aviv.

The agreed nuclear deal has been a source of antagonism in the US.  Republicans believe that the deal has empowered Tehran to build nuclear war heads.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, both presidential hopefuls in the 2016 elections, continued to denounce America’s nuclear deal with Iran.

At a rally in Washington DC, Trump suggested that the deal shows that Americans are being led by “stupid” leaders who have exposed the country to more terror attacks.  Trump’s comments come  despite Obama having  secured enough support in the Congress to prevent a vote on the nuke treaty.  The Donald told a rally that “Never ever, ever in my life have I seen a deal so incompetently negotiated as our deal with Iran.”

Ted Cruz promised the electorate that his first priority once he makes it to the White House will be to “rip off the deal into pieces,” as it jeopardizes US National Security.

On the other hand, the man who called the US the greatest Satan, Ali Khamenei, is said to have ordered Iran’s Parliament to review the deal prior to giving  his prediction on the fall of Israel by 2040.
