Media preview of Smithsonian exhibit “The Way Worked” at Pinecrest Gardens

2_Girls-Deliver-Ice-copyPinecrest, FL – Media is invited to preview “The Way We Worked,” a Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibition that explores the professions and the people that made up America’s workforce during the past 150 years through historical photographs, archival accounts of workers, audio and interactive displays.

The Pinecrest Gardens Gallery will be open Saturday, September 5 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for media to preview the exhibition. Pinecrest Gardens is located at 11000 Red Road. To request an interview and/or images, please contact Michelle Hammontree by calling 786-606-3042.

On select nights, Pinecrest Gardens will screen historical films and host a variety of presenters including: Miami Historian Dr. Paul George, Author Cory Gittner, Florida Highwayman Artist R.L. Lewis, South Florida Writer’s Association, University of Florida Extension Miami-Dade County, Pinecrest’s own Dr. Scott F. Kenward and a WLRN documentary series. A children’s reading hour is available on select dates and field trips will also be offered.
