Pedestrian Accident on Bishop Avenue

pedestrian-accidentOn September 9, 2015, at about 3:31pm, a mother, H/F/18, was with her 4 month old infant son in the parking lot of the Women’s Specialty Center(Clinic) located at 1135 N. Bishop Avenue waiting on a friend to pick them up. The mother was standing on the elevated sidewalk and her son was in an infant carrier/safety seat. The mother placed the infant carrier on the sidewalk facing south towards the parking lot while she waited for her friend Hispanic female 18. The friend drove into the parking lot in a 2003 Mazda Tribute SUV. The friend pulled into a parking space directly in from of the mother and her infant child. The friend misapplied the accelerator and drove over the curb and onto the elevated sidewalk colliding with the infant child. The infant was transported to Children’s Medical Center in critical condition. The mother was not injured.

This remains an ongoing investigation conducted by the Vehicle Crimes Unit. This incident will be documented on case numbers 209977-2015 and 209978-2015.
