FOX network announced on Oct. 7, that the beloved animated Bob’s Burgers will be renewed for a seventh and eighth season. The television network has ordered two more seasons of Bob’s Burgers due to its robust rating with adults aged 18 to 49. This means that the cartoon, which is in its sixth season, will likely be paired alongside The Simpsons which also got a nod for a double season renewal. The series narrates the adventures encountered by the Belcher family as they run the family burger restaurant.
FOX’s Broadcasting Company President of Entertainment, David Madden, said in a statement, “Six seasons in, the Belchers have become one of America’s most beloved TV families, and we are so happy to keep them in the fold for another two seasons.” The press release statement went on to laud praises on the creator and producer of the animation, Loren Bouchard and Jim Dauterive, for their ingenuity in the animation. He also commended the “brilliant voice cast” for the humor in Bob’s Burgers. All this combined has made the comedy a must-watch program every Sunday night.
Bob’s Burgers has won an Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program in 2014 and was twice nominated as such this year. Its sixth season premiere on Sept. 27, 2015, tallied a record number of 2.5 million viewers with a strong 1.4 rating from adults in the 18 to 49 age bracket. It is believed that the mainstay of Bob’s Burgers animation is its voice cast crew. This season a number of celebrities which includes Jordan Peele, Zach Galifianakis and Henry Winkler will make up the guest voice roster. Bob’s Burgers is expected to reach a 100th episode milestone in spring 2016. Speaking in an interview during the sixth premiere, Bouchard told reporters that the team is preparing for the milestone so as to capture the real “fabric” of the Belcher family in the series. “The 100th episode will not be big and crazy, but should be the quintessential Bob’s Burgers episode,” he remarked.
A brief survey on different social platforms revealed that fans have welcomed the decision to renew Bob’s Burgers. One tweet read, “I remember being worried that Bob’s Burgers would be cancelled, and now it has been ordered for two more seasons, that makes me happy.” Another socialite wrote, “Every time I listen to Gene’s lines it makes me rethink my life. Bob’s Burgers is about real life experiences.” This was a reference to Bob Belcher’s son, Gene, who is voiced by Eugene Mirman. The mood is summed up in Madden’s words that describe the cartoon as “hilarious, warm, smart and inventive.”
Meanwhile, Zen Pinball Company Zen Studios announced the release of Bob’s Burgers Pinball on mobile phones, consoles, and computers. It is reported that the Bob’s Burgers Pinball table will “include 15 different game modes” with the intention to finish the episodes from the family comedy. This will boost the popularity ratings of the FOX animated series as it prepares to endure the seventh and eighth season. One critic viewed this partnership with Zen Studios as the best way to “bring the Belcher’s family restaurant to the world.” Certainly the news that FOX has ordered another tasty and creative Belcher’s family adventure for the next two seasons will keep viewers glued to their television sets. The video below is from the first season of Bob’s Burgers’ fifth episode in which Linda tells Bob that she was going to the strip club when, in fact, she was going to a dinner theater.
