Justin Bieber’s Big Comeback

Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber, now 21, released a song titled What Do You Mean? from his new album, Purpose, on Friday, Aug. 28, 2015. The possibility of a big comeback was very emotional for him, as evidenced by his emotional performance at the MTV VMA awards on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2015, after which he cried on stage. He seemed surprised about the positive reaction from the audience as well as the support he received from everyone around him. When asked what had caused such a big turnaround in his life, he said he blamed his past problems partly on those with whom he had surrounded himself, saying, “My past troubles are being surrounded by knuckleheads.” He also said, “The last time I was at an awards show, I was booed.”  Other sources report that the singer said that while working on this album, he was becoming the man he wanted to become. He has been performing since he was 12 years old.

Bieber’s new song was ranked No. 1 in ninety countries around the world. According to sources, he has been seen a lot in New York City lately, especially at his friend Travis Scott’s new album release party. He has not had a release party for his own new album, and his fans are anxious to see what is in store. He made an appearance on Sept. 2, 2015, with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, before which he was seen riding a skateboard through Times Square to the NBC Studios. Bieber has also tweeted, “Small town living is the best,” perhaps a nod to his childhood growing up in the small town of Stratford, Ontario, in Canada before moving to the United States to pursue a musical career.

By the time he was 16, Bieber had over five million online followers, which has grown to over twenty-four million Twitter followers and over fifty-four million Facebook fans. His mother, Pattie, first uploaded to Youtube the footage of her son performing songs from Usher and Justin Timberlake, which would ultimately make him famous. According to many sources, Usher and Timberlake fought over the YouTube sensation. Usher took the young Canadian under his wing, and with his influence, helped make of Bieber the artist who has made the charts with his smash hits time and time again. His career began with his first album in 2008, which was recorded with Island Records. This album, My World 2.0, went platinum in just a few weeks. He has performed at the White House and has released his own movie, titled Never Say Never.

He has worked with superstars such as Katy Perry and his former girlfriend, Selena Gomez, with whom he recently dropped the new song, Strong, on October 17. Hollywood.com is reporting that the track, recorded a long time ago, was released specifically to precede Bieber’s new album and big comeback, and to follow the release of Gomez’ new record, Revival. The track was played on OVO Sound Radio as a “leaked” song.

Bieber had several issues with the law in 2014, including a DUI.  He says that he has worked hard over the past year to overcome many obstacles, while faced with constant judgement from all sides. Earlier in October, nude photos of him snapped unawares on vacation in Bora Bora were widely circulated online.

True fans have stood by him, and with his emotional television appearance at the VMAs, Bieber first told the world through his music and words that his big comeback is all about showing the world the man that he wanted to become. “I just went through a place of just trying to figure it out,” he said.
