A shooting has been reported at 1901 S. Avers in the North Lawndale community of Chicago’s West Side. As the images in this report indicate, law enforcement has flooded the crime scene. Witnesses say that an unknown young black male was shot in his left arm at approximately 11:23 p.m. CT. The victim was rushed to Mount Sinai Medical Center following the shooting.
According to Guardian Liberty Voice photojournalist Untrail D. Boyd, one witness heard seven shots. However, only one of those shots struck the victim.
Police have taped off the area as they investigate the crime scene.
The North Lawndale community has been unusually quiet over the last two days. However, law enforcement is expecting a turbulent Memorial Day weekend.
