Shooting Kills 13-Year-Old Boy in Philadelphia

WPVI Action News, an ABC affiliate, reported a fatal shooting incident that took place on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at around 5:30 p.m. EDT, in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, Pa. The victim was a 13-year-old boy whose name has not been released. According to the Philadelphia Police Department, the deceased was shot in the head by an unidentified gunman. He succumbed to his injuries after being taken to the Einstein Medical Center.

Coincidentally, the WPTV Action News camera crew was about a block away from East Walnut Lane when the shooting reportedly occurred. The crew members immediately rushed to the crime scene when they heard the gunshot.

According to the investigating officers, the case is still ongoing, and no breakthroughs have been achieved in the case. This means that the police have not been able to identify the shooter, nor have they been able to procure any leads that may provide important clues regarding the assailant’s identity and whereabouts. Additionally, there have not been any leads on a possible motive for the shooting.
