According to CBS News, a shooting, that killed four and injured a child, took place at The Arbors of Bastrop apartment complex in Bastrop, Texas on July 23, 2016, at 6:13 p.m. CDT.
The Bastrop Police Department and the Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) responded to the call at 202 Childers Drive. Initially, five people were thought to be dead, but the BCSO has yet to confirm.
However, according to KVUE ABC, Bastrop Police Detective Vicky Steffanic said, among the dead are, one man, a child, and two women. Of the four people killed, one of them was the shooting suspect who died from self-inflicted wounds. The injuries to the minor child who survived, are said to not be life-threatening. No further information about the surviving child is known at this time.
Detective Steffanic said there is no current threat to the public since the shooter is among those are deceased. Both the BCSO and the Texas Rangers are conducting a joint investigation that is still ongoing. The identities of the victims have not been released.
