Projections for the next President of the United States have begun to roll in from many states. Multiple key states are currently too close to call, including Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, and Georgia. Donald Trump is leading the popular vote across the nation.
As of 8:50 p.m. ET, Trump has a projected 66 electoral votes. It is predicted that he will win Indiana, Kentucky, Arkansas, South Carolina, Tennessee, Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Alabama.
Hillary Clinton is the projected winner of Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Vermont, Rhode Island, Delaware, Illinois, and D.C. This would garner her 68 electoral votes.
It has been reported that Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Maine, New Hampshire, Michigan, and Missouri have been added to the list of states that are too close to call. However, Trump is leading in North Carolina and Clinton is ahead in Virginia.
9:20 p.m. Update: Trump is projected to win Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Texas, Mississippi, and Louisiana. He could gain 129 electoral votes.
Clinton is in-line to win New York. She has a possible 104 electoral votes.
11:07 p.m. Update: Trump is expected to win Montana, North Carolina, and Ohio. It has not been officially announced but Politico is giving Florida to the Republican candidate.
Clinton is projected to take Colorado, New Mexico, California, Virginia, Connecticut, and Hawaii. The current electoral votes projected for Trump is 216 and 197 for Clinton.
Nine states are still be reported as too close to call. These states include New Hampshire, Georgia, Florida, Iowa, Wisconsin, Utah, Arizona, Washington, and Nevada.
The stock market has dropped 700 points since Trump has been in the lead.
11:30 p.m. Update: Trump is the predicted winner of Florida and Clinton has increased her electoral votes as the projected winner of Washington and Oregon. The electoral standings are Trump, 232 and Clinton, 209.
11:52 p.m. Update: The projected winner of Florida and Georgia is Trump. This increases his electoral votes to 244. Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan remain too close to call.
12:30 a.m. Update: Clinton has taken the state of Nevada. This brings her up to 215 electoral votes.
1:40 a.m. Update: Trump has won Pennsylvania. He has garnered 264 electoral votes.
2:00 a.m. Update: Clinton has won three of the four electoral votes in Maine. She will not be speaking tonight. Her campaign chairman sent supporters home to rest until tomorrow and all the votes are tallied.
2:12 a.m. Update: Alaska has been won by Trump. He has garnered a total of 268 of the electoral votes compared to the 218 granted Clinton.
2:45 a.m. Update: It has been confirmed by MSNBC that Clinton has called Trump to concede. The Hill has called Trump the 45th president of the United States.
Republicans will maintain control of Congress.
