A new free travel app for iPhone launched by Upside, April 26, 2017, at 8:05 a.m. ET, is ready to make business travel easier. The Upside app is specifically designed for people who work for smaller to mid-sized companies requiring workers to make their own travel arrangements, before company reimbursement.
The Travel App Aims to Make Shopping for Business Voyages More Efficient
The goal of Upside and their travel app is to reduce time spent shopping for the best prices and most affordable deals. The app aims to assist in offering the lowest priced business travel options, along with the choice to pay using “Apple Pay.” Upside estimates that their new app will allow for purchasing business travel needs 90 percent faster.
Upside has established itself as the first online travel business specifically for travelers from smaller companies. The company’s goal is to provide substantial savings for small business travelers. Upside, launched in January 2017 by Priceline founder, Jay Walker, aims to assist the under-served travelers from smaller firms:
Small businesses can’t get volume discounts from airlines and hotels and, unlike very large companies, they can’t get business-quality customer service. Upside changes all that.
Voyagers can search for flights and hotels, with a savings of 5–15 percent, over what they find in other locations on the internet. Along with savings on travel, Upside rewards customers with gift cards when they agree to be flexible in choosing their flight and hotel.
The travel app is streamlined to use just a few screens, allowing customers to quickly view and select choices for their business travel needs. Having the app will provide business travelers with assistance purchasing trips, view trip history, and an around-the-clock customer service representative to contact. The Upside travel app also keeps a history of frequent flyer miles and gives the customer a platform to choose their gift card rewards.
Upside’s launch of their travel app helps mark its first 100 days in operation, since the company’s start in January. The Apple Store has recognized the travel app by featuring it in their “New Apps We Love” section.
