Dodgers-Astros Hectic 4th Game of the World Series

World Series

Los Angeles Dodgers beat the confident Houston Astros, 6-2, in a hectic game of the World Series on Saturday, Oct. 28th, 2017, that was decided at the death by a crucial play.

Dodgers won the first encounter 3-1, the Astros rallied to lead World Series 2-1 ahead of the 4th game, win games 2 and 3, 7-6 and 5-3 respectively.

Center fielder George Springer topped the Astros’ order, followed by third baseman Alex Bregman, second baseman Jose Altuve, shortstop Carlos Correa, first baseman Yuli Gurriel, right fielder Josh Reddick, designated hitter Evan Gattis, left fielder Marwin Gonzalez, and catcher Brian McCann. Right-handed pitcher Charlie Morton was on the mound to open the game for Houston.

On the other side, center fielder Chris Taylor led the Dodgers, followed by shortstop Corey Seager, third baseman Justin Turner, first baseman Cody Bellinger, right fielder Yasiel Puig, second baseman Logan Forsythe, catcher Austin Barnes, designated hitter Joc Pederson, and left fielder Enrique Hernandez. Left-handed pitcher Alex Wood opened the encounter.

It was an outstanding pitch duel, as Morton and Wood battled down to shut down every single batter for five consecutive innings. However, Houston’s George Springer broke the deadlock in the top of the sixth with a solitary home run after two outs before Cody Bellinger’s double tie in the seventh.

There were only five hits between the teams as they were heading into the 9th, tied 1-1. Bellinger did it again in the top of the last inning as he doubled, contributing to putting his team ahead, 6-1. It took four Dodgers pitchers combined to allow a solitary home run by Alex Bregman, at the close of the game.

Next up is game 5 on Sunday night at Minute Maid Park as the World Series goes on.
