Movie director Duncan Jones is the son of music legend David Bowie. Bowie died in January 2016 and Jones has decided to launch an online book club in honor of his father.
Jones tweeted, “My dad was a best of a reader. I’ve been feeling a building sense of duty to go on the same literary marathon in tribute to dad.”
The first book that will be discussed in the Bowie Book Club will be the 1985 crime novel, “Hawksmoor: by Peter Ackroyd. Those who wish to join have until Feb. 1, 2018 to read the book to join the discussion. Anyone interested can join the Bowie Book Club on Twitter for free.
In 2013, Bowie’s official website listed his Top 100 Books. “Hawksmoor” was on that list. However, Jones did not say if the Bowie Book Club would stay with the list.
