Sharron Angle is a Constitutionally Conservative Republican. This means, like the Founders, she believes in reducing government over reach through observance of the enumerated powers in the Constitution, which results in the benefits of lower taxation, less government regulation, and a balanced budget. She is part of the tradition of moderation, compromise, and accommodation of differences without compromising Constitutional principles.
She is running for the United States House of Representatives in Nevada, Congressional District 2.
Angle wants to limit government regulation. This includes the repeal the Affordable Care Act and give the American people the freedom to choose. She believes in a basic health insurance package like automobile insurance, which allows for purchase across state lines, eliminating coverage mandates, such as maternity coverage for young single men. This drives the cost of premiums higher. Angle favors a basic plan that would allow the option to add onto the plan as needed.
Angle also supports patients talking to their doctor about their needs, rather than having to gain approval from the insurance company first.
Angle has been an opponent of tax increases since her days in the Nevada Legislature. Most notable was her fight to defend Nevada’s Constitution that went all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, after the legislature and governor tried to pass the largest tax increase in the history of the state by nullifying a Constitutional law that required a two-thirds majority vote to pass. She supported the tax reform bill but wants it to go further with the repeal of the federal income tax amendment.
She stressed limiting government overreach, especially the latest FISA scandal. According to Angle, the American people have the “unalienable right to privacy, even from our government, which should be focused on criminals, not law-abiding citizens, by reigning in, not expanding the over-reach of the NSA and the Patriot Act.”
Sharron Angle is an author and small business owner. She was the President of the National Federation of Republican Assemblies, a chair of Our Voice PAC, an FEC Super PAC, and she is a 4-term Nevada State Legislator. She was also a teacher for 25 years in public, private, and community colleges and she homeschooled.
Angle is a trusted, solid choice to represent the people of Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District.
