Easter Weekend at Wave Church … Have You Heard the News?

Easter

On Easter Sunday, people from across the globe will join together in celebration of the resurrection Jesus Christ. Many churches choose to refer to the holiday as Resurrection Day because of its commercialization, but it is typically the most attended Sunday service of the year for Christian churches. Wave Church, located in the heart of Virginia Beach, has many options for the entire weekend as we present the Easter story through the eyes of one of Jesus’ disciples. This mixture of incredible productions is a weekend of celebrations to honor the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.

EasterWave Church has high hopes that people from all walks of life would come to celebrate what Jesus has done for all humanity through an incredible Easter weekend with options for every age. This celebration includes a helicopter Easter egg drop and excitement for the whole family in a fun-filled community event.

Pastors Steve and Sharon Kelly are excited to have the community share in this time of celebration. There will be communion, beautiful praise and worship and a powerful message. Pastor Steve said:

We are very excited to share our Easter services with the community. Our approach is one with the vision that many people would come to church to experience an excellent production and, in turn, hear the message of Jesus and all that He has done for us.

Have you heard the news? Wave Church’s Easter Weekend begins on Good Friday evening at 7:30 with a communion service beginning the story with the headline, “Alleged Savior of the World Dies.” The story continues on Easter Sunday morning at 9 and 11:00 where we look into the disciple’s perspective with the headline, “Suspicions Confirmed, The Tomb Is Empty.” Wave Church will then conclude the weekend festivities on Sunday evening at 6:00 with the headline, “Community Gathers to Celebrate the Risen Savior.”

Wave Church has always been a community focused organization where people matter. This creative approach to this traditional holiday offers a breath of fresh air for those looking for a local church to become a part of. Wave is a Eastergrowing church that is changing their world one life at a time. It is not only a beacon within the Hampton Roads community, but the network of Wave Churches continue to impact and influence lives nationally and internationally.

Good Friday service will have a traditional approach and communion will be offered. On Easter Sunday morning, the story of the death and resurrection of Jesus as outlined in modern times newscasting will take place along with a medley of inspirational teaching along with incredible musical features by the Wave Church Worship and Creative Arts Team. Easter Sunday night, the festivities continue with an outdoor community celebration including a petting zoo, food trucks, and many games. It is truly an entertaining event for the entire family.

A musically talented team, state-of-the-art venue, and celebration of the life of Jesus all come to fruition on this coming weekend. In addition to this creative presentation, many activities will take place for the children to explore. On Sunday evening they will enjoy a visit from the Easter bunny along with a massive helicopter Easter egg drop with over 16,000 candy-filled eggs during the community gathering on Sunday evening.

This multi-media production and Easter message will be offered at the Great Neck campus, located at 1000 N. Great Neck Road, at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. as well as their Seaboard Road campus, located at 2655 Seaboard Road, at 10 a.m. These locations are both in Virginia Beach, Va, however, many other Wave Church campuses across the United EasterStates will also hold Easter services. All Hampton Road campuses will unite for the 6 p.m. community outreach celebration. For times and locations please visit the website at www.wavechurch.com.

Instead of a one-day observance, Easter is an entire season celebrated by Christians. In many churches, the season begins with Lent, which is a time of reflection and penance representing the 40 days that Jesus spent alone in the wilderness before starting his ministry. In addition to the religious significance of Easter, there is also a commercial side, which is witnessed by the host of marshmallow chicks and jelly beans featured in stores worldwide during this season.

Wave Church has high hopes for services this weekend and would love for everyone to end this wonderful season by partaking in a weekend of incredible productions, which gracefully merges both observations.
