GTA V Online: Rockstar release more information on character loss
With GTA V player’s frustrations mounting, Rockstar are working feverishly to solve the problem of character, item, rank, property and cash loss. As the company learns more about the issue, they have been passing the information on to gamers who have experienced these losses.

The biggest question so far has been how can they get them back. R* are trying to establish a way that this can be accomplished. They have also set up automated email notifications for player’s issues if they subscribe to the Support Site.

While the games company are seeking a suitable answer to the losses reported by players and a way to provide restoration, they have passed on more hints that may help gamers to avoid the issue. Unfortunately, Rockstar have not addressed the Cloud Server issues that are causing many fans of the game so much dissatisfaction.

As more and more players find they cannot access the Cloud content their anger at the games developer is growing. Problems such as not being able to join a gaming session while their friends can and accessing the Cloud Server only sporadically, are just two of the many server issues.

R* have again posted new information on their support page. They have restated the same information about not hitting Retry as this will delete your temporary characters.

They have also pointed out that playing during a cloud outage will result in your character slots appearing blank. R* have said that even though these are blank, the characters are not deleted.

The company says that the GTA Online mode should not be entered if the R* Cloud Servers are not available. If the services do become available, the temporary character you created will not save. Players will need to return to Single Player mode and re-enter the GTA Online mode to load their old, non temporary, characters in order to save their progress.

GTA V Online mode has experienced problems since its launch. Rockstar have been working hard by making title patches available for both PS3 and Xbox 360 and addressing new issues as they arise. They are also working to fix the biggest problem addressed by gamers, the character, item, property, rank and money loss. They have yet to address the issue of inadequate server issues.

The company reiterated that players should pause the game upon exiting GTA Online and return to Single Player mode. This insures that a new save will occur and that this is essential for keeping any items you may have just purchased before exiting.

Rockstar are working on a fix to the Retry issue by making another title update.

The latest information provided explained that if previously created characters who do not show up on the character selection screen when players enter GTA Online, they should back out to the GTA V Story Mode. Once players have done that, they should then attempt to re-enter GTA Online. R* say do not create a new character in the empty slot.

If players get the “Rockstar Cloud Servers Unavailable” message they should repeat the above sequence or wait till the servers are back up. If they create a new character it could overwrite their existing one.

Rockstar Games continue to work on solving the outstanding issues and to apologize for all the problems. But GTA V fans are getting increasingly frustrated at the server issues. While R* have updated players on their efforts to fix the issue of character loss, they have yet to address the Cloud Server issues that are making so many gamers angry.
