Bill Cosby’s Arrogance Will Overshadow His Alibi [Video]

CosbyBill Cosby has long been known for his comedic genius and arrogant demeanor. The flood of allegations surrounding his character have now been made public, but reportedly women have been coming forward for years to warn others that the Jell-O pudding man was not so sweet. The recent release of disclosed reports has again made the comedian the flavor of the day with news headlines and across social media platforms.

Over the years Cosby’s attorneys have called the scandal frivolous and ridiculous, stating any sexual encounters with the world’s leading funnyman have been consensual. The actor has never been arrested or charged for any of his crimes. In fact, the chatter seemed to have quieted down the last decade until recently when the past made an unexpected visit after fellow comedian Hannibal Buress highlighted Cosby during a stand-up set in Philadelphia. Buress pulled no punches when he said:

I don’t know what I am doing by telling you. I guess I want to just at least make it weird for you to watch Cosby Show reruns. It is even worse because Bill Cosby has the f***ing smuggest old black man public persona that I hate. He gets on TV and says ‘Pull your pants up black people, I was on TV in the ‘80s. I can talk down to you because I had a successful sitcom,’ Yeah, but you rape women, Bill Cosby, so turn the crazy down a couple notches.

Until this point, Cosby has always been the man with the squeaky clean persona. He never uses foul or vulgar language during performances and has never played a villain or bad character in a movie…. Until now, where he is the leading man in the biggest and worst role of his career. As he takes on this role of public scrutiny, he remains arrogant calling his accusers liars and self-promoters; it is as if the sexual predator has done nothing wrong. When, in fact, many of his fans have now sided with the women and contest that Cosby’s arrogance will overshadow his alibi which continuously points to erroneously to consensual sexual encounters.

CosbyAmerica’s favorite father’s sins have come back to haunt him as his world collapses beneath him. Reruns pulled off networks, new projects rejected and public appearances canceled, yet he sees himself as untouchable. Maybe the statute of limitations has run dry for many of his accusers and Cosby may find himself protected by the law, but much of society has already lost respect for the comedian and slammed the gavel in their minds as they yell, “Guilty!”

One of the most revered performers of the last half-century, William Henry Cosby occupies a permanent place in the American history. Yet like many trailblazers, he seems to possess an almost unfathomable and inexplicable darkness. This duality has caused him to shine as a leader while reportedly commit unspeakable acts in defiance of his public persona. He meticulously navigated a “script” where the father America thought they knew, could allegedly defile young women who admired him, without their consent and/or conscious awareness.

The long-standing comedian is so arrogant that he even made a joke about the sexual assault allegations against him during a show in London, Ontario, earlier this year. A woman in the front row started to walk out when Cosby questioned her. She replied that she was going to get a drink and asked if Mr. Cosby would like one. He declined and with a smile said:

You have to be careful about drinking around me.

Cosby has long been protected by layers of hierarchy, existing in what some would consider a bubble secured by riches. It now appears that all of his public life has been riddled with criminal behavior which will soon confirm that his arrogance will overshadow his alibi. According to recent reports which seem to validate the cries of his victims, the actor has lived publicly as the greatest dad of all times, while secretly an adulterer, incurable womanizer, and serial rapist. As the tide of his stardom continues to turn, all signs point to a man whose arrogance will overshadow his alibi.
