Diana Ross tweeted on March 23, 2019, that she had something on her mind. She said she trusts and believes Michael Jackson was a magnificent individual to her and others. She asked people to “Stop in the name of love.”
Ross felt that she needed to support her friend in light of the recent controversy following the “Leaving Neverland” documentary.
James Safechuck and Wade Robson allege that they were sexually abused by Jackson when they were children.
Many tweeted back to Ross in support of her comments towards Jackson. Not everybody agreed.
Selina Meyer Has Lived an Otherwise Blameless Life @selina3sticks tweeted back “Are you high.”
Ross and Jackson’s friendship started in the 70s and lasted until his 2009 death. Jackson wrote in his memoir that he considered Ross to be his “lover, mother, and sister in one person.” Jackson also named Ross as her the secondary caregiver to his children.
Ross’ support of Jackson comes after Barbra Streisand caused a controversy saying while she believed the accusers, she felt Jackson’s sexual needs came from his childhood or DHA. People cannot say he molested the children because they were happy to be at his home. She also added that both of the alleged victims of Jackson were now married with children. Thus, the molestation did not kill them.
After the backlash, Streisand apologized saying that under no circumstances is it OK to take advantage of children and she felt sympathy for the victims.
