Amanda Bynes has resurfaced on Twitter and sent a tweet to her followers as well as doing a little self censoring on her older tweets. The 27 year-old actress is putting her life in order after her spectacular public meltdown that started in 2012. While spiraling helplessly out of control, Bynes used Twitter almost addictively; sending tweets out to those who irritated her or caught her attention.
She used the microblogging site to invite singer Drake to invade her nether regions – in polite parlance – and when he declined the offer she went off on the performer only to tweet later that she meant none of what she’d posted. Her various entries on Twitter only served to make her behavior seem erratic and strange.
More often than not, the former Nickelodeon star and film actress would tell her Twitter followers about her plastic surgery and call out other celebrities, usually Rihanna, Drake and whoever she might be feuding with at the time. She also posted about becoming a rapper and retiring from the business because she was rich. While her Twitter rants became legendary she had continuing problems with law enforcement officials.
After her troubles with the police, she pleaded no contest in a DUI charge that dated back to April 2012 when her troubles were just beginning. Luckily for the Easy A star, she got three years probation and fines instead of jail time. She still faces a six month out-patient therapy session twice a week after her marijuana troubles in New York. It was this particular incident where she claimed that a police officer had “slapped” her vagina.
The She’s the Man star continued to behave bizarrely throughout 2013 and it all culminated with Bynes setting fire to a stranger’s driveway in Thousand Oaks, California. She left the scene of the crime with her gasoline soaked dog and was arrested later after using an liquor store’s employee washroom to clean the fuel off her dog.
She was placed on 5150 psychiatric hold and placed in hospital for observation and for her own safety. Her parents were given conservatorship over their daughter and later Amanda was diagnosed as having a form of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
After the diagnosis was made and medication sorted for the former child star she was moved to a Malibu rehab facility. She had undergone several months of treatment for her mental problems before the transfer to the rehab facility and she was released from the Malibu center in December 2013.
Bynes has now resurfaced on her Twitter account to tweet a message of love to all her followers. Although it did appear that she had returned once before. September last year, a tweet was posted on her verified account that read “I love Drake.” Her fans were excited that Amanda was back to her old Twitter tricks. Sadly this was not the case. According to the star’s lawyer, Tamar Armanak, her account had been hacked. At the time, she was still in the UCLA Medical Center and was not allowed access to telephones or computers. Although it was rumored that Bynes did have limited use of a cell phone.
Since her release from the Malibu facility, Amanda has been keeping a low profile and studying at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) in Irvine California. Bynes has been attending the school since January this year. The tweet she sent to her followers said that she was busy studying at @FIDM and that she wanted to tell all her fans that she loved them. She ended the tweet with “hugs and kisses” Amanda. Hopefully the former Hairspray star can continue improving and not slide back into notoriety.
