Anyone with ‘half a brain’ is fully aware that Trump’s ‘big lie’ is just that. The 2020 election was fair, secure, and rid our nation of an obese old, white man who would have destroyed democracy. However, desperation is pervasive within Trump’s party and in Nevada, Jim Marchant proves that he believes he cannot win in 2024 without Trump’s white supremacist cult.

Once Again, It’s Trump vs America

Marchant, who fallaciously calls himself a “Republican,” will challenge Jacky Rosen, a Democrat, for her seat on

the United States Senate next year. Marchant was a state assemblyman and in 2022 ran as a Republican for Secretary of State. Fortunately, a staunch supporter of the big lie, lost in a close election. He would cause even more damage in the United States Senate.

Senator Rosen defeated Republican incumbent, Dean Heller, another Trump devotee in 2018. Her accomplishments are many. However, the most important in our divided nation is that fact that she and Nevada’s other Senator, Catherine Cortez Masto, have been working with Republican women in the Senate to pass legislation and adopt policies which would positively affect all Americans.

Marchant is a Trumpian fascist who only serves tyrants and dictators. His plans are perfectly aligned with Trump and his mentor, Vladimir Putin.

A Repeat of 2020?

In 2022, another Trump lackey, Adam Laxalt, attempted to lie his way into a victory over Senator Catherine Cortez Masto. Fortunately, the voters of the Silver State sent Laxalt home.

Since his birth on June 14, 1946, Trump has been a part of America’s dark pas. His entire presidency was an effort to divide our nation and move its hopes backwards into the dark days of the 1950s when white power, misogyny, gay bashing, and religious persecution were normal in our nation’s society.

In his private life he aligned himself with organized crime and our nation’s greatest enemies, Russia and Saudi Arabia. Their financial support kept him from declaring bankruptcy on multiple occasions.

From Red, to Purple, to Blue

Nevada strongly supported Hillary Clinton and other Democrats in 2016. In 2018, the ‘blue wave’ continued. In 2020, our Electoral College votes were given to President Biden. I was proud to see the changes in my state. It appeared to be moving from a regressive to a progressive state politically. In 2022, with a sad exception of the election of a Trump puppet as our governor, Nevada remained progressive.

Marchant Is a Controversial Candidate

Marchant fails to have the complete support of Nevada’s Republicans. He does not stand for the values of most Nevadans. Also of concern is that although he won a narrow victory in 2016 as a member of the state’s legislature, he was defeated just two years later. It appears that some Republicans are tired of losing. (Does anyone remember Trump telling his cult that, “you’ll be so tired of winning?”)

Nevada’s two female Senators have proven to be intelligent, hard-working, and most importantly focused on the people of our state. I hope most of my fellow Nevadans will recognize this fact and secure reelection for Senator Rosen. We need her to represent us and not special interests in Washington.
