Google Glass and What Has Gone Wrong

Back in 2012, Google Glass was first emerging as the next big thing and it was believed that the future of technology would revolve around this technology but what has gone wrong? Yet after almost two years since announcing the device, Glass still has failed to hit the marketplace like it should have. There are many reasons why the design has been lackluster. Google did not seem to put much though into the actual design of the unit. The actual glass which sends an image into a person’s eye scratchs so easily that it is really not even worth taking it out of its case.People who see others wearing Google Glass seem to be laughing at them.

The actual image beamed into an individual’s eye is very weak one with only a 640 x 360 pixel resolution. This could have been amazing a decade ago, but the majority of screens these days have at least a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution screen. The poor resolution becomes an even larger problem when one realizes he or she is viewing the image right in front of  their eyes. It is also extremely easly to see the screen pixels, which makes the viewing experience seem old school.

It is also a fact that screen brightness is most often much too low in the majority of situations.  Google Glass is still considered to be in beta form so that could explain some of the problems but it does not give any type of indication at present that the final version will be any more user-friendly.  When one tries to navigating the device with one finger swipe sound cool, but it is downright frustrating when any individual actually uses Glass. It almost seems more confusing that the first edition of Windows Mobile. Glass software only lets a person view the pictures and videos which have been taken with the Glass camera.

Glass is supposed to be safe for driving but if a person is having some sort of image beamed to the upper parts of his or her right eye, true that does not block the road, but it might obstruct it for some users. There is also the main fact that Glass really does not serve any major purpose. Some believe it is great for looking at driving directions, which also can be done if one happens to have a GPS or smartphone attached to their car dashboards.

There are other individuals who believe Google Glass serves as a brilliant device for physicians. These facts certainly may all be true. It is basically a personal judgement call. However Glass is unable to perform as a virtual reality headset for gamers. There are new types of units coming out from both Facebook and Sony that have been created to specifically fit this bill. One of the things Glass is doing completely right at this time is causing all sorts of technology websites to drool over the cool brand new technology Google is introducing.

Google Glass first emerged in 2012 as the next big thing and it was believed that the future of technology would revolve around this technology. Yet after almost two years since announcing the device, Glass still has failed to hit the marketplace like it was believed it would.
