With all of the hype lately in the media and around the world, Ebola seems to be the new “virus of the year.” But there has yet to be some truth revealed about how to protect yourself from Ebola. For the third time in the history of the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s existence, they have declared a Level 1 emergency alertness in response to the outbreaks of Ebola in West Africa. Level 1, being the highest level of alertness, was declared only two other times. The first being, the 2005 Avian Influenza epidemic, also known as the “Bird Flu,” following Hurricane Katrina, and the second time being the 2009 H1N1 Influenza outbreak, also known as the “Swine Flu.” This time, all of the fear and panic is over the extremely aggressive and deadly virus known as Ebola.
Ebola was first discovered in 1976, when an outbreak occurred in Yambuku, located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It was named, by the scientist who discovered it, after the Ebola River located nearly 60 miles from the virus’ birthplace. Today there are five subtypes of Ebola known to exist: Zaire ebolavirus (ZEBOV), Ivory Coast ebolavirus (ICEBOV), Sudan ebolavirus (SEBOV), Ebola-Reston (REBOV) and Bundibugyo ebolavirus (BEBOV).
The current 2014 outbreak of Ebola involves the Zaire ebolavirus subtype. This particular type of ebolavirus can cause visible symptoms in as quickly as two days, after contracting it. Such symptoms as fever, sore throat, muscle pain, headaches, vomiting, skin rashes and decreased functioning of the liver and kidneys, to name a few, can occur. The virus can be contracted after extremely close and intimate contact with an infected person, via airborne, or bodily fluids exchange. The way the virus works in the body is by entering a weak immune cell and shutting it down. After suppressing the cellular immune system, the virus then begins to multiply in an astoundingly fast pace, thus taking over the bodies ability to properly fight back. Since the immune system is designed to protect the body at all costs, in an attempt to do so after an attack like this, it begins to release an abundance of chemicals called cytokines and chemokines. This is known in the medical world as a “Cytokine Storm,” due to the fact that it is really this process and not the virus, which causes the body the most amount of harm. These “Cytokine Storms” are really what cause people to die after contracting the seasonal flu, “bird flu,” and many other viral illnesses.
Although there has been much hype about the dangers of this particular virus, and how it could possibly have a pandemic effect on the United Stated population, and even spread around the world causing repercussions only seen by such epidemics as the Bubonic Plague, this may not be the case. The public has witnessed this type of media hype and extreme warning in our recent past. In 2005, President Bush made a public prediction that possibly two million Americans may be killed due to the “Bird Flu.” Causing much panic in the medical world, they began to take action to control the virus by administering untested vaccines that had not undergone a full trial run. Due to this risky and dangerous process several people had suffered more damage to their bodies from the preventative vaccine than the virus itself.
After some time, it was concluded by several doctors that the Avian Influenza epidemic might have been a hoax. This was explained very well in The Great Bird Flu Hoax, by Dr. J. Mercola. Given some time for the hype to die down, in 2009 the next viral epidemic had taken the spotlight, when the World Health Organization made a public statement warning its 194 member nations that they should expect up to one-third of the world’s population to be infected with the “Swine Flu.” Yet again, dangerous vaccines were fast-tracked and administered to the public along with antiviral pharmaceuticals, which were later discovered to be completely useless and quite possibly even worsen flu symptoms.
Some medical professionals believe that the media, government and the public fail to understand that dangerous viruses that spread around the world, killing many people, is nothing new and nothing that natural allopathic medicine has not already cured before. These medical professionals have proven that there are precautions you can take to protect yourself from Ebola. Nature has always provided human beings with all of the proper tools and armor they would need to sustain long and healthy lives, but it may involve some research. The best way to protect yourself from contracting viruses such as Ebola is to ensure that your immune system is strong and fully functioning. Some of the most important natural remedies to protect yourself from such viruses are magnesium salts, sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), iodine, selenium, and vitamin’s C and D.
Magnesium chloride has a very rare and unique ability to heal the body of minor viral and bacterial diseases. It has even cured people with Polio and Diphtheria and is the main subject in the book Transdermal Magnesium Therapy, by Dr. Mark Sircus. After being properly alkalinized by sodium bicarbonate, or “Baking Soda”, it is extremely rare that a person will even contract a virus. Even after contracting the virus, if alkalized early enough, the attacks to the body would be very mild and the symptoms would most likely be diminished within the first 36 hours. This was discovered in 1919, by Dr. Volney S. Cheney when he sent a letter over to the Arm and Hammer Company praising their product.
Iodine is one of the most important supplements to aid the body’s immune system and maintain overall wellness. With the proper dosage of iodine the possibility of being affected by Ebola, or any flu for that matter is almost impossible. One of the most underrated minerals that is absolutely essential to the health of the human body is selenium. This particular Zaire strain of the Ebola virus may be dependent on the trace mineral selenium. This creates the possibility that selenium deficiency in host populations may actually promote viral replications and trigger outbreaks and the development of more malicious virus strains. Supplementing with selenium will most certainly prevent the contracting and spreading of deadly viruses as well as control the “Cytokine Storm” problem caused by the infections. There is no viral infection known to man that can withstand the proper dosing of vitamin C. With the help of vitamin D assisting vitamin C, it is just a matter of time before the body begins to heal from any virus or disease that is attacking the immune system.
Despite the sophistication of western medicine today, most hospitals are not prepared to handle such an epidemic as the Ebola virus. This is why it is extremely important for people to individually take matters into their own hands and practice preventative maintenance when it comes to their health. If the American Medical Association, the World Health Organization as well as so many others, devised a strategy involving all of these natural allopathic medicines to fight such viruses as Ebola and inform the public about the truth on how to protect yourself, these outbreaks would no longer become epidemics, pandemics or even plagues that threatened to wipeout large portions of the world’s population.
