Michael Fassbender Attempts to Fill the Shoes of Steve Jobs in Biopic

Jobs

ABC News stated that while Aaron Sorkin’s biopic on Steve jobs has had a rough start, the film appears to be headed for critical acclaim based on the response to the trailer that was recently released. The movie will star Michael Fassbender as Jobs and the article went on to say that the actor looks the part and seems to be a good fit. The film is expected to be released in October according to the article. Fassbender may have big shoes to fill in playing Jobs, but seems to be up to the challenge according to Yahoo News.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale were in talks to play the lead role, but when both deals fell through Fassbender was offered the role and happily stepped in, ABC News added. The highly anticipated film will cover the life of Jobs and his work as the co-founder of Apple. The film will also explore his 2011 death after battling cancer.

Unfortunately, major details on the film were exposed last year due to a hack at Sony. This caused a huge set back in terms of production. Everyone involved is hoping that nothing like this will happen again that could cause additional set backs and delay the film even more as stated by The Daily Mail. Fassbender came on board in January which came as a relief to the crew, who had been searching for months for the appropriate person to play Jobs. This is a huge role and those are big shoes to fill, so making the right choice for the part was essential that article added.

The public had been speculating over who would play the role for a while and the January announcement finally put the guessing game to rest. Kate Winslet is set to play the former marketing boss of Macintosh, Joanna Hoffman and Seth Rogen will play Steve Wozniak, the other co-founder of Apple. Jeff Daniels has been chosen to play the former CEO of Apple, John Sculley and Michael Stuhlbarg will star as Andy Hertzfeld, one of the original developers of Mac.

Katherine Waterston will play the ex-girlfriend of Jobs and the mother of his child. Perla Haney-Jardine will play their daughter, Lisa Brennan-Jobs. Before Fassbender was chosen, there was even talks that Christian Bale would play the role of Jobs but that appears to have been just speculation. This film is based on a biography of Jobs that was written by Walter Isaacson and was originally intended for Leonardo DiCaprio to be released by Sony.

The last film on Jobs that was released in 2013 and starred Ashton Kutcher in the lead role, was a major letdown according to The Daily Mail. Many had been looking forward to that film and were very disappointed by the whole thing. Expectations are very high for this new biopic and the crew behind this film hopes that they can deliver a film to meet everyone’s anticipations. Danny Boyle has served as director for the film and many people hope that he can deliver just as he did with some of his previous films such as Slumdog Millionaire, Variety mentioned.

Kate Winslet, who stars in the film, was reported to have said that she greatly enjoyed making the film and she felt that Fassbender and Boyle especially did a great job. The article also added that she hopes people enjoy the film and much as she enjoyed making it. She added that she is hopeful that the film lives up to everyone’s expectations and they are satisfied with the finished product.

Fassbender has big shoes to fill in playing the role of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. The film and his attempt at playing Jobs has been the subject of mush speculation and everyone involved in the film hopes to meet the expectations of the public. Universal Studios has just released its first trailer for the film which does not reveal a whole lot and just further adds to the excitement for the film. The studio seems to want to keep the public guessing and keep their interest going for the upcoming film, as an article for Yahoo News put it.
