Coalition of Grassroots Organizations Sponsor Workshops Statewide:
How to Be an Effective Citizen Lobbyist

A Coalition of Grassroots organizations are co-sponsoring public workshops around the state to teach citizens how to effectively lobby their State Legislators. The Nevada Legislature begins on February 4, 2013. The workshops will take place in Las Vegas, Pahrump, Carson City, Reno, and Elko (see schedule below).

The sponsoring organizations include: Nevada Eagle Forum, Citizen Outreach, Independent American Party, Clark County Republican Party, Libertarian Party, Nevada Right to Life, Stillwater Firearms Association, Charleston Neighborhood Preservation, Pahrump Wednesday Night Meeting Group, Nevada Firearms Coalition, Grassroots Tea Party of Nevada, TRUNC, The Reclamation Group, ABATE, Citizens in Action, People Organized for the Next Generation, and Nevada Families Association.

“Citizens can be highly effective lobbyists, even from their own homes, when they know what to do. Many citizens feel intimidated and unsure of the Legislative process. These workshops will teach citizens how to participate in the Legislative process in meaningful and simple ways from their own homes. It is important for elected Legislators to hear from their constituents. Often Legislators only hear from business, labor, and government lobbyists who do not necessarily represent the people’s best interests,” stated Janine Hansen, State President Nevada Eagle Forum.

The workshops are open to the public with a $10.00 registration fee for materials.
