The search for suspected killer, and ex-LAPD officer Christopher Dorner had moved to Big Bear, California, where his pick-up truck was apparently located. Police are spread out over hundreds of miles, and have been told to use extreme caution.
Service records show that Dorner was a Naval reserve unit commander at Fallon Naval Air Station for eight months in 2009.
He was reported to be a lieutenant reserve officer augmenting security on the base which is about 70 miles east of Reno. He then performed the same function at Stead Air Force Base, which is a few miles north of the Reno/Sparks area.
Dorner is the prime suspect in the murders of a couple last Saturday evening in Irvine, California, and a police officer earlier this morning.
