Dallas: Amber Alert Update
On March 26, 2013, Ms. Jaqueline Jones contacted the Dallas police because she was unable to locate her son Aron and was concerned for his safety. Ms. Jones had spoken with Aron by telephone and he stated that he was in “some sort of trouble.” Officers were dispatched to the residence and were unsuccessful in locating Aron. The officers documented the incident on Case #71647-A. A subsequent report was generated on March 27, 2013, and the incident was classified as a Runaway, documented on Case #71993-A.

While the investigation was on-going, Aron called his father and told him that he was being held against his will and he didn’t know where he was. After receiving this information, detectives reclassified the Runaway report to a Kidnapping offense. On March 27, 2013 an Amber Alert was activated due to the complainant’s age, his unknown whereabouts and that he was possibly in danger. The FBI was notified and they assisted the Dallas police department with the investigation.
On March 28, 2013, at approximately 4:30 AM, Ms. Jones contacted Youth Operations to report that her son Aron had returned home. Patrol officers responded to their residence and transported Aron to Youth Operations at police headquarters. Aron is safe and unharmed. The Amber Alert was cancelled.

The Youth Operations Unit is continuing to investigate the incident. Detectives are reviewing information gathered from Aron and other individuals associated with him to determine if a kidnapping offense occurred. There is no danger to general public.
