8 Die in Fires Saturday Night in France, 5 Children in one House Fire
In the picturesque town of Saint-Quentin, France, approximately 90 miles north of Paris, 5 young children died in a house fire Saturday night.
The children, ages 2 to 10, reportedly died in the fire while their father was able to escape with light burns. Rescue team official Thierry Oberlin says the father, who has
not been named, was able to contact a neighbor who then contacted police.
In an unrelated fire, authorities state another fire erupted in a northeastern suburb of Paris, Aubervilliers, where three people were killed and 13 were injured. Aubervilliers is 4.5 miles from Paris’ center.
