“Sweet Sixteen” Resumes Tomorrow
There are 4 games Thursday, and 4 games Friday as “March Madness” resumes.
The much expected match of between the Orangemen of Syracuse and the Hoosiers of Indiana will be the highlighted game tomorrow.
Statistically, Syracuse should be home watching the games. Their last game against California saw them going 12 full minutes without a field goal in the second half. They made a total of 6 baskets in the half, and missed 15 free throws. An impenetrable zone defense secured the unlikely victory.
As for Indiana, Temple gave a 100% effort and nearly toppled the number one seed. It took Victor Oladipo’s 3 pointer in the last seconds to insure victory.
The other teams playing tomorrow are Marquette and Miami of Florida, Arizona and Ohio State, and Wichita State vs. La Salle.
Predictions: Aaron Craft, the Ohio State general, will lead the Buckeyes to the “elite eight”. He will do whatever is necessary to secure victory.
Indiana’s Cody Zeller and Victor Oladipo will not let Syracuse score enough points to win. The Hoosiers will play on the weekend.
The Golden Eagles of Marquette are making their third consecutive appearance in the “sweet sixteen”. Miami’s Hurricanes had difficulty with Illinois last Sunday. Marquette had to make a lay-up in the last second to beat Butler. Look for a hungry Marquette team to be celebrating at the final buzzer.
The toughest one to call is Wichita State and La Salle. La Salle is considered somewhat of a “sleeper”. Wichita State pulled the upset of the tournament beating overall number one seed Gonzaga. I’m going to predict that the Shockers will have a small let down, and La Salle will be the team in the final eight.
We’ll take a look at Friday’s games tomorrow.
