Man Barricaded in Tacoma Surrenders: Update
A 67-year old-man who allegedly fired shots into homes and pointed his weapons at individuals in a Tacoma, Washington residential area, has surrendered.
He had holed up in his own home with an estimated 4 assault weapons. Negotiations continued for hours.
A barrage of tear gas canisters were discharged into the house. About 9 p.m. the 67 year old man surrendered.
Just before 9 p.m. sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer tweeted: “Suspect in custody excellent job … No one hurt or killed ..”
Pierce County sheriff’s deputies had described the standoff as a “very dangerous situation.
The man was described by neighbors as having mental problems. They also believe he may have been drinking.
