An Amazing Statistic About the Senate Vote on Gun Control
I am aware that everyone is sick of me saying that congress does not represent the American people. But here is an amazing statistic that was revealed today. It proves that Senators who voted against the measure to expand background checks are interested in only one thing, re-election. And that includes 4 Democrats.
A poll shows that the favorability of increased background checks held a higher percentage than Mother Teresa. 90% of the American public, many of them gun owners, favored the legislation.
So when the President and “Gabby” Giffords called Wednesday a ‘shameful day for America’, they were 100% correct.
The American people lost, and the NRA lobby won. When big business controls our government, we have none.
Great Congressmen and Senators are a thing of the past. Now, they get elected, and abandon any morals and sense of what is right and wrong for their own benefit. They truly are shameful.
Hopefully the President is correct when he says that the repercussions of Wednesday’s vote in the Senate will be reflected in the 2014 mid-term elections. But that, too, is dependent on the American people having courage. They haven’t shown it in recent times either.
