The Huffington Post is reporting that rapper Chris Kelly of the duo Kris Kross, was found dead at the south campus of the Atlanta Medical Center Wednesday evening. He was 34-years-old.
An autopsy will be performed, the cause of death is uncertain.
Kelly, known as “Mac Daddy” performed alongside Chris Smith, known as “Daddy Mac,” in the early and mid-90s. The duo might be best remembered for the song “Jump” from their 1992 debut album, “Totally Krossed Out.”
Kelly was an Atlanta native, and was discovered with partner Chris Smith by now-famous entertainer and producer Jermaine Dupri in 1990. They traditionally wore their pants ‘backwards’.
And unofficial spokesperson for the Fulton County Police Department says the assumed cause of death is a drug overdose.
