Chinga Chang Records’ producer and label CEO Daniel Herman thinks that Amanda Bynes could be the next big hip-hop sensation. He’s enthusiastic and confident that the former Nickelodeon star will be hip-hop’s next big thing.
“She’s just hip-hop!” Herman enthused, adding: “Right now you have a Nickelodeon pop star masquerading as a gangster rapper.”
Herman continued with his praise of Amanda Bynes’ singing talents:
“So I see someone like Amanda Bynes, and I know she has talent. I grew up with Nick and the orange couch. I know she has talent. I’ve heard her sing when she was younger. I wanna get her in the cutting room in NYC and see what she has. Why the hell not?”
According to the label producer: “She is not crazy, she is not on drugs. She’s just hip-hop! She’s a great talent who is going to make some great records with some classic producers.”
He also said that she’s more gangster than hip-hop star Drake: “If you look at her actions and attitude she represents hip-hop a lot better than Drake. Musically, this girl carries herself.”
Though details of a deal with Bynes, 27, have not been settled upon yet, Chinga Chang Records’ CEO has extended an offer for a record deal to drop her first album and he is “beyond confident” that she has the talent needed to succeed in the music business and be the next big hip-hop sensation.
Daniel Herman believes that Bynes is “phenomenal” and that Chinga Chang Records is “the perfect home” for her. He is adamant that, despite what some might believe, “This isn’t just a gimmick.”
The CEO of Chinga Chang Records said Amanda might sign as early as later this week.
Daniel Herman has already approached Sony Entertainment The Orchard, two companies Amanda Bynes has contracts with, and has received their go ahead, and he’s also approached Bynes’ lawyer to propose the deal.
The “Easy A” actress has expressed an interest in getting more involved in the music business before. She turned down a job offer with Playboy Radio because she wants to focus on her rap career, but Amanda said she will go on the show for an interview whenever she tours promoting the record.
Chinga Chang Records is a small New-York based music group. Other acts who have signed with them include Kool G Rap, Rakim and DJ Premier.
Do you think that Amanda Bynes will be the next big hip-hop star?
If Amanda Bynes does pursue a career as a hi-hop or rap singer, would you buy one of her albums, assuming it was any good? That is the subject of the poll below, which I call “Amanda Bynes’ ‘That’s So Hip-Hop’ Poll.”
