COLLISIONDETAILS:
On July 9, 2013 at approximately 4:48 a.m., a fatal auto /fixed objecttraffic collision occurred on Town Center Drive north ofHavenwood Lane. Evidence atthe scene and witnessstatementsindicate a 2009 Toyota Matrix wastraveling southbound on Town CenterDrive approachingHavenwood Lane when it crossed the centerline of the roadway onto the raised centermedian. The Toyota continued southbound on themedian and the front of the vehicle struck a fixed streetlamp post.

The streetlamp was broken atthe base and fell into the northbound lanes of Town CenterDrive. The Toyota came to restfacing north in the southbound leftturn lane of Town Center Drive. The operator ofthe 2009 Toyota Matrix was pronounced dead atthe scene by respondingmedical
personnel. Thisisthe 52nd traffic related fatality in LVMPD’sjurisdiction in 2013. This collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD AccidentInvestigation Section.
