“Yo ho ho, matey!” might be a phrase you’ll feel like uttering as you play the latest Assassin’s Creed game, Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. In the game, you play the part of Edward Kenway, a British pirate, and become deeply involved in a long-standing war between the Templars and the Assassins. Upgrading your ship, the Jackdaw, can be expensive — unless you know where to find Elite Upgrades, like where to find Elite Round Shot to fire from your cannons. Why spend the money you’ll be earning, when you can get the upgrades for free?
Some of the other Elite Upgrades for the Jackdaw that you can find, for free, rather than spend money to get, include better cannons and armor, a mermaid to grace the front of your ship, and black sails.
Battles against ships from the Portuguese, British, and Spanish fleets can earn you lost of treasure and rum and sugar you can sell for even more money. The more areas you explore, the more Elite Upgrades you’ll be able to find, and then you can use your cash for other uses, rather than spending it on your ship.
In Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, you can explore almost every beach, fort, and bay. You’ll also get immersed into numerous missions on the land, and because you are one bad-ass fighter, Edward can take on many of his enemies at one time.
Whether you sneak up on your foes and use your trusty knife to make quick kills, or you leap from ledges and make dramatic kills by plunging your knife into the necks of your hapless enemies, they’re just as dead. When other weapons might suit your needs better, you also have poison darts, swords, and guns at your disposal.
Edward can also upgrades upgrades from jungle animals, and you can use harpoons and rowboats to hunt for sharks and whales. You can even make like Captain Ahab and hunt for a white whale!
In the vast world of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, besides Edward and other fictional pirates, you can also spend time with actual pirates such as Calico Jack, Benjamin Hornigold, Blackbeard, James Kidd, and Black Bart.
Where can I find all of the Elite Upgrades in Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag for the Jackdaw?
The Elite Round Shot is located at the map coordinates 769, 145 in the Kabah Ruins. To obtain the Elite Hull, check out your map and travel to the coordinates 379, 770. It’s in San Ignacio, yo.
Want to find out where the Elite Swivel Guns are located? They’re in the Devil’s Eye Cave at the map coordinates 488, 353. If you want to complete the quest of killing a white whale, the Elite Harpoon will come in handy — you can find it at the map coordinates 579, 720, on Andreas Island.
Go up against the baddest of the bad using the Elite Broadside Cannons you’ll be able to locate at the map coordinates 471, 170 at The Blue Hole. Of course, then you’ll also probably want to know where the Elite Heavy Shot is located. That Elite Upgrade can be found at the map coordinates 901, 263, at the Petite Cavern.
In San Juan, at the map coordinates 479, 487, you’ll be able to find the Elite Fire Barrels, while at the beautiful Isla Providencia, you can locate the Elite Fire Barrel Storage at the map coordinates of 502, 44. The last Elite Upgrade you can locate is the Elite Ram, which you can find at La Concepcion Shipwreck, at the map coordinates 181, 296.
Get your pirate swagger on, sail the Seven Seas, blast your enemies to smithereens, and even learn a bit of history by playing Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag! Finding all of the Elite Upgrades to upgrade the Jackdaw will aid your progress in the game, and you won’t have to spend any of your money to get them, now that you know where to locate all of them — have a bloody good time!

All of jackdogs updates? where is most important update? mortal?
If for some reason the coordinates I provided for the Elite Fire Barrel Storage aren’t correct, or you’d just like further info, YouTube actually has a series of videos which go into great detail about how to get many of these items. One link to one of the videos there about obtaining the Elite Fire Barrel Storage is at this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jR73STbHRcw I hope that might be a help! The are many other useful videos there as well, if anyone is having difficulty locating certain items.
I found all my treasure that they provided maps for however the elite fire barrel storage I cannot figure out where it is. Do u think u can help me figure this out it’s the last upgrad
After obtaining the plans how do you get them to work or does it still cost ?
You still need to buy it
Thanks for the help, Douglas. I found most of the elite upgrades. Not all the coordinates were correct, but as you said…you got it from another web site. I read on a web site that you can extend the map on AC 4 and get New Mexico or something like that? Does enyone if that’s true?
Ty a lot for this!!
The elite heavy shot is at Misteriosa (307,195). In order to unlock it you need the map at Ambergris Key (55,178), as Kris, another person who posted here, mentioned. Thanks, Kris! One source that I used did mention that it was located at the Petite Cavern; so, that is also what I wrote. Sorry if it was misleading to anyone reading this article.
Thanks for the list but you’re absolutely wrong about the petite cavern. There is no elite heavy shot there. Could you pots the actual location, maybe your “sorces” can give it to you. Sarcasim aside I do thank you again for putting up a mostly accurate list of upgrade locations.
Hi guys .Where can i get elite mortar ?
I have bought the elite plans (time saver pack), still to bad you still have to pay a ton of money too ! I tought it was the plans OR pay a lot of money.. its takes a LOT of time getting all upgrades.
I bought the time saver pack also but the red prerequisite plans needed thing in the upgrade area never went away and I can’t get them…did you do something to make it go away?
Does anyone have the location of the maps themselves
Douglas great job with the listings. ill be sure to hop on when i get home and go part hunting. but has Jon said you forgot Elite Mortar location
Thx for the info, I was wondering where the plans were, did all of the navy missions hoping that was it.
Great article Douglas Cobb. Great game tips as it made playing AC4 a lot more fun. I’m very sorry to hear people like Jimmy use disrespectful remarks as well. It’s arrogant and not needed. Thanks again Douglas!
Can you make a video I can’t find them in the wrecks I’ve looked through the entire underwater map
P.O.S. game…last time I EVER buy or play an AC title…absolute garbage with glitches and re-hashed gameplay made SLOWER than previous titles
Here is exactly what the source Guide4Games.net said: “Here is the list of all the upgrades that you can find in the game and can upgrade your ship without spending the money.”
Jimmy, I wasn’t “lying.” I was using the information, the sources, I had available to me. If they still do cost money, I’m sorry about my being misinformed; but, the sources I used said knowing where the coordinates where meant that they didn’t cost you any money. If I was misinformed, fine — but, I wasn’t lying.
You lying dick you still need to purchase the upgrade!! Don’t be so misleading
I think your the dick. Have some respect or go look on some other site to get information. Your douche bag comment isn’t needed. Take some lessons on maturity.
the guy posting the info probably got it from an other website.. be happy he took his time, its not his fault he got wrong information, don’t be a dick, and go sink some ships to pay for the upgrade..
Forgot elite mortar location.
