Sure, the performances were stellar, the songs wonderful. Story-tellers in song collaborated for the 47th Annual CMA Awards special. Murmurs of appreciation for Carrie Underwood’s delightful gown selections probably received more attention than Luke Bryan’s stunning opening song That’s My Kinda Night. Onward to what the novice fashionista’s of the world really want to see! The top 5 best dressed performers of the exciting evening.
Number 1: CMA Awards Fashion Winner- Carrie Underwood
Time to be frank here – Carrie Underwood could wear a burlap sack and still be undeniably beautiful! She is kind, a fan favorite and sings her tushy off! She also did a stellar job of hosting the 2013 CMA Awards. Underwood looked simply amazing, there were a few outfits that were a bit questionable, such as the bright floral pants she wore, but honestly she pulled it off. Below are fantastic photos courtesy of ABC. Brad Paisley naturally matched his co-host for the number 1 spot as well, it is after all, Brad Paisley.

Number 2: CMA Fashion Winner, the Side-kick Known as Kellie Pickler
Kellie Pickler is one of those adorable people one can love… for about five minutes. She was in charge of assisting Underwood by passing out cards to the celebrity-riddled audience for their feud match-ups. Although, Pickler lost in season five of American Idol, she continues to rack up the country favorites. Pickler also has an album releasing this month called The Woman I Am. It doesn’t hurt she is a gorgeous woman to boot. She rocked her dressed with the right amount of bare skin and sassy class.

Number 3: CMA Power Couple – Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton
Only at the CMA Awards can a country star be applauded for their match of boots, jeans, jacket and vest but as always Blake Shelton gets away with it. More stunning was the absolute radiant beauty at his side. Miranda Lambert has always held a special spot in this writer’s heart – but doesn’t she look sensational? Lambert looked fierce in the blue patterned and fitted dress she wore, showing off a mighty killer figure.

Number 4: CMA Awards Fashion Surprise Winner – Kimberly Schlapman
Seeing Kimberly Schlapman on so many worst-dressed lists tonight was astounding and unjust. Personally, the dress she wore last year was also pretty darn cute, it seems someone in the industry may have it out of for the blonde beauty. The feathered touches on her dress were simple, not gaudy and it blended beautifully with her fitted halted top. Her healthy skin glowed, her hair looked beautiful, her make-up skillfully applied and her clutch was understated and worked. This writer thinks Schlapman looked amazing!

Number 5: CMA Darlings – The Band Perry
The rendition of Don’t Let me be Lonely by The Band Perry has been a YouTube favorite and the charming band continued to prove why they are a powerful, rising trio of talent. In addition, the three of them looked incredibly cute this evening. Kimberly Perry’s (lead singer) dress bordered on wedding blues, but she pulled it off. Plus, her brothers were super dapper and complemented their sister well. Admittingly, their Academy Awards outfits were a step above, but this trio is a personal favorite and incredibly classy.

CMA Awards Fashion Wrap-Up

While many outlets lauded Taylor’s Swift dress, this writer sighed over its boring and suffocating, material factor. Swift seemed to drown in the dress and it did nothing to enhance her youth. Shawna Thompson looked so amazing, she can rock a dress, Laura Bell Bundy is beautiful but personally appeared less “put-together.”
Speaking of somewhat sloppy, it seems Connie Britton would had rocked an up-do. She has gorgeous hair, but wearing it long with her lovely evening dress did no justice to the beauty. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill nearly made this list, but Hill’s Grecian-style dress created a slight wince, McGraw always creates a sigh. This was the minuscule top 5 best dressed performers at the CMA Awards. Who were your favorites and what fashion duds did you spot?
