‘Captain America’ Post Credit Scene Leaked

Captain America

Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Solider is set for release on April 4th. The film is the third to be released as apart of Marvel’s phase two in lead-up to the sequel to the global blockbuster, The Avengers.  One thing Marvel has popularized since the first Iron Man film are the post credit stringers to tease the upcoming events in the cinematic universe. It appears Captain America will be no different as though the post credit scene attached to the end of the new film has been leaked.

Captain America: The Winter Solider takes place two years after the battle of New York from The Avengers film. The man out of time Steve Rogers, played once again by Chris Evans, now resides in Washingtion D.C. and attempts to adjust to his new contemporary world. After an attack upon S.H.I.E.L.D, Rogers joins with Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff to uncover the truth while forced to fight off hired hitmen. When the mystery becomes unravelled, Captain America and The Black Widow seek the aid of The Falcon to stop a powerful new adversary, The Winter Solider.

Rumor has it that the leaked post credit scene for Captain America: The Winter Solider sets up the sequel, The Avengers: Age Of Ulton. The scene is to feature Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch or as the film refers to them, “the twins”. The brother-sister team have been said to not look like any other Marvel superhero previously seen on screen. Played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass) and Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene, the upcoming Godzilla), the twins are new additions to the superhero squad and are expected to play a prominent role in the heavily anticipated  sequel due out in May 2015.

The move to feature the twins in a post credit sequence should not come as a surprise to many as the same two characters are to appear in Fox’s X-Men: Days Of Future Past opening this May. It is clear that Marvel and Disney are looking to get audiences familiar with their version of the twins before Fox. The complicated ownership rights allow for both studios to use both sets of characters albeit there are some special circumstances. Disney/Marvel are forbidden from using the word “mutant” in their film series and cannot make mention to either character’s lineage as the Fox-owned character Magneto, played in the franchise by Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbender, is the biological father of the twins according to comic book lore. In X-Men: Days Of Future Past, only the character Quicksilver has a prominent role and is played by American Horror Story’s Evan Peters. In the comic book universe, Quicksilver is capable of incredible speeds while Scarlet Witch has the ability manipulate probability via hexes and wield magical energy.

Captain America: The Winter Solider also features Samuel L. Jackson returning as Nick Fury and joining the Marvel cinematic universe is Robert Redford who will play a senior executive at S.H.I.E.L.D. Before The Avengers: Age Of Ulton is released, Marvel’s The Guardians Of The Galaxy, the final film in phase two, will open wide on August 1st. The post credit scene leak is sure to only generate more hype for the already eagerly anticipated Captain America sequel.
