Sometimes musicians speak directly to their audience no matter the language spoken. Taylor Davis is a talented young violinist with a passion that many also hold dear; video games. Her album Gaming Fantasy, is a collection of video game tracks performed on the violin. The album Gaming Fantasy demonstrates that Davis has an appreciation for Square Enix games, the album has tracks from not only Final Fantasy VII, but also Final Fantasy IX, X, Chrono Cross, and Kingdom Hearts. The main variety in the album comes from the shift from turn-based RPG’s to more recent games such as Assassin’s Creed II and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The album even includes a little bit of anime influence with tracks from Fullmetal Alchemist and Naruto. It is true that most of the inspiration for Gaming Fantasy comes from the late 90’s to 2000’s, but a few unexpected older gems can also be found, such as Frog’s Theme and the main theme from Chrono Trigger.
