It’s another boy for Gwen Stefani and husband Gavin Rossdale, who welcomed their third son Friday, Feb.28. The married couple are already parents to Zuma Nesta Rock and Kingston James McGregor. Stefani and Rossdale kept the pregnancy under wraps until the mom-to-be took to her Instagram to reveal the news. “I was ready to hand over the crown. But I guess I am still queen of the house. #itsaboy #surroundedbyboys,” she wrote in January with a picture of herself wearing a crown.
Stefani met Rossdale during a tour opening for the band Bush. Rossdale was the lead singer and guitarist. They married Sept. 14, 2002 in London. Two weeks later, the couple held a second wedding in Los Angeles. In December 2005, the No Doubt singer confirmed her first pregnancy during a concert in Fort Laurderdale, Florida. “I want you to sing so loud that the baby hears it!” she said.
In January 2008, Stefani’s father-in-law confirmed that the couple were expecting their second child together. Zuma Nesta Rock was born Aug. 21, 2008. At age 44, The Sweet Escape singer welcomed her third son, Apollo Bowie Flynn Rossdale. Baby Apollo is Rossdale’s fourth child. He has a daughter, Daisy Lowe,24, from a previous relationship.
Before getting pregnant, Stefani hinted at having another child. “I really, really, really, wanted one about two years ago. And it didn’t work out,” she said in an interview with Marie Claire.
In February, the singer celebrated her baby shower with friends and family. The party was designed by celebrity event planner Sharon Sacks and had a black, silver and cream color scheme. The event was held at the Hotel Bel Air. Some well-known guests included Nicole Richie, Rachel Zoe, Chelsea Handler and Gwyneth Paltrow. Stefani received a variety of gifts, including The Honest Company’s rock star organic diaper cake from Jessica Alba. “She had tons of items picked out and put in a huge 3Sprouts dinosaur basket from“She filled it with practical items.”
Stefani is the co-founder and lead vocalist of No Doubt. The band’s most recent album Push and Shove was released Sept. 25, 2012. No Doubt went on a brief hiatus last year, but are rumored to regroup sometime soon. Stefani launched her own clothing line named L.A.M.B. in 2004. She expanded the line a year later with the Harajuku Lovers. She has also been a spokesperson for L’Oreal Paris since 2011.
Before marrying Rossdale, the Wind It Up singer dated bandmate Tony Kanal. During an interview, Stefani expressed her commitment to the relationship. “…all I ever did was look at Tony and pray that God would let me have a baby with him,” she said.
Kanal split up with Stefani during the recording of the band’s third album Tragic Kingdom. The breakup almost caused the group to disband. Their relationship was the influence behind the hit singles Don’t Speak, Hey You and Sunday Morning. Kanal is married to Erin Lokitz. The couple have two daughters together.
Stefani’s husband announced the birth of third son, Apollo via his Twitter account.
