Just days after the news broke that Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher were engaged, its been revealed that the two former That ’70s Show stars will be working together again when Mila guest stars on Two and a Half Men. The fact that the 30 year-old Ted star will play the love interest of the 36 year-old “replacement” for Charlie Sheen, and real life fiancee, has an almost serendipitous feel to it. Almost a case of history repeating itself.
Back in 1998, the two lovebirds played a couple whose romance was a bit rocky. Kunis played Jackie Burkhart to Ashton’s Michael Kelso and in their case they broke up almost as much as they made up. In real life the two developed a firm friendship, but never dated, although sources at the time said that Mila had a huge crush on Kutcher.
As the show ran down, and Kutcher left the show, both he and Kunis were dating different people and not each other. Mila ended up in a long term relationship with Macaulay Culkin and Ashton played the field until meeting the former Mrs. Bruce Willis; Demi Moore. Moore and Kunis tied the knot and it was not until their relationship cooled and Moore decided that she wanted a divorce that the two ’70s Show alumni got together.
When Demi and Ashton’s divorce was finalized in November 2013 Mila and the Punk’d host wasted no time in getting together again. Most of 2013 was filled with news of the two spending a lot of time enjoying each other’s company and they went on an extended tour of Europe as their relationship grew.
Both actors have been busy; Kunis has been doing voice work on Hell and Back an animated comedy that is in post production and due out this year and Ashton, after finishing his work as Steve Jobs in Jobs is busy working on Two and a Half Men. Now Mila is slated to guest star opposite Kutcher in the comedy program as a love interest for his character in the show; Walden Schmidt.
According to the show’s network, CBS, Mila will play a character named Vivian who is a young “free-spirit” who has traveled the world. This “beautiful” gypsy type woman and Walden have an immediate “connection” which is troublesome for Schmidt as he was about to pop the question to another woman and he feels that Vivian is the “one” for him.
Apart from her upcoming appearance on Ashton’s program, Mila still does voice over work on as Meg Griffin on Seth MacFarlane’s Family Guy. She also worked on another MacFarlane project Ted and she is rumored to be signed up to work in Ted 2 but not in a huge part. Lovelace star Amanda Seyfried has been tipped as the romantic female lead in the sequel.
Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher will have a sort of That ’70s Show reunion when she guest stars on Two and a Half Men almost doing a reprisal of her original role in the 1998 comedy. CBS News reported that the engaged couple will be working together but they have not given out which upcoming episode will feature this storyline. Luckily for both actors they have worked together before and no doubt they will have no problem doing the more romantic scenes.
