29 year-old Scarlett Johansson is pregnant with her first child which could mean trouble for her character the Black Widow for the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron film due out in 2015. Before the issue of Joss Whedon having to work around a baby bump on Ms Johansson, the newly engaged, and now pregnant film star, will surely be over the moon with this most recent event.
The proud poppa is Romain Dauriac who popped the question to the Black Widow actress a little over six months ago. Celebrity website TMZ reports that Scarlett is around five months along and at the French Cesar Film Awards ceremony in Paris, she looked a little heavier in the stomach department while she and her fiance posed for photographs on the red carpet.
Back in January this year on Good Morning America The Avengers star revealed that even though Romain had proposed, and she accepted, that her wedding plans were “far off” and that she wasn’t thinking of getting married at the moment. Johansson revealed that apart from her feeling that her fiance was her “best buddy” the two had not even prepared nuptials for the big day. They may have to hurry up now that Scarlett’s in a family way.
Scarlett Johansson, aka the Black Widow is pregnant and the baby is due August this year which may upset filmmakers. Just how her news will affect the upcoming sequel in the Avengers franchise is not clear. The Her star, she provided the voice of “Samantha” for the film, is getting ready to do promotional work for her latest Marvel film Captain America: The Winter Soldier and after that’s completed she is scheduled to start work on Avengers 2.
According to E! News a source has revealed that filmmakers for the Marvel sequel will “fast-track” her scenes. Scarlett is already set to start in April, but, the studios are being very silent on what they think of the star’s happy family news; they have also not confirmed the “fast-track” rumor.
The film star is scheduled to have very busy year professionally. Apart from her promotional work for Captain America: The Winter Soldier and shooting for The Avengers: Age of Ultron Johansson is due to make her debut as a director for an adaptation of Truman Capote’s Summer Crossing. This last project is scheduled to be shot in New York City this summer. With a calendar that full, Scarlett may be working right up until the baby makes its own debut.
The Black Widow actress has, admittedly, already been pretty busy before this latest turn of events. Her recent engagement to “mystery man” Dauriac as well as her pregnancy news, caps off what has been packed working schedule. Voice work for Her; her stint in the film that she’ll soon be promoting, Captain America: The Winter Soldier; Her work in the Joseph Gordon-Levitt film Don Jon and her appearance in the indie film Under the Skin means that she’s been so busy that its amazing she found time to get engaged, let alone pregnant. As the film star is, the Guardian Liberty Voice would love to be among the first to congratulate the happy couple.
