Although Kim Kardashian and Kanye West wanted their wedding to be an A-list event, the guest list was decidedly D-list. Especially when compared to other celebrity weddings such as Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes and even West’s one time twitter enemy, Jimmy Kimmel.
Kardashian and West married in a lavish ceremony fit for royalty. Not only did the couple hold their rehearsal dinner in the palace of Versailles, but also they were married in Forte di Belvedere, and even rode away in a real royal horse-drawn carriage. Guests were flown in private jets between locations, given private tours of the palace grounds, and enjoyed music performed live by Lana Del Rey. Fireworks also were shot off outside the palace.
Even though the wedding was extremely opulent, Kim Kardashian just could not secure A-list celebrities as her guests, and instead it was filled with D-list people. There were a few exceptions, such as John Legend and Serena Williams. Besides those two stars, the guest list was mainly friends of the reality star such as, Brittny Gastineau, La La Anthony, and Milika Haqq, and of course, the famous members of the Kardashian family.
Even Kanye West could not persuade his famous friends, Jay Z and Beyoncé, to come to the wedding. There were rumors that Jay Z actually agreed to be West’s best man, if his family were not featured at all in the wedding film. However, when the wedding day rolled around, Jay Z and Beyoncé were vacationing on the beach in the Hamptons. Beyoncé did congratulate the couple on Instagram, but did not give any reason for why they declined to attend.
Another famous celebrity that got married in a palace in Italy is Tom Cruise. Cruise married Katie Holmes in 2006. The impressive guest list for that wedding included A-listers such as David and Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Lopez, Mark Anthony, Brooke Shields, Jim Carrey, John Travolta, Kelly Preston, and Will and Jada Smith. Kardashian and West did have Jaden Smith as a guest, but not his famous parents.
Even Jimmy Kimmel’s guest list was filled with more stars than Kim and Kanye’s. Kimmel’s wedding chairs were filled up of stars like Kristen Bell, Dax Shepard, Jennifer Aniston, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, and Ellen DeGeneres. Kanye West once had a twitter war with Kimmel, acting like Kimmel was a nobody in Hollywood compared to him. After examining the guest lists between the two men, it seems as if many stars disagree with West.
Not only did famous faces such as Anna Wintour, Jay Z, and Beyoncé fail to make the wedding, but two family members boycotted it as well. Brody Jenner and Rob Kardashian both decided against attending the event. Even Kim Kardashian’s second wedding to Kris Humphries was attended by well known stars such as Lindsay Lohan, Eva Longoria, and Ryan Seacrest.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West clearly expected their wedding to be the wedding of a century, and anticipated more than just D-List celebrities would attend. No word on if the couple is disappointed that other famous people failed to witness their wedding. However, from the pictures, the couple looked pretty happy to be surrounded by the 600 people that did show up.

We all know that Bruce Jenner and the Kardashians got notoriety because some idiot producer decided to put them on reality TV. And we all know how stupid Reality TV really is. Are the Kardashian girls trying to get over their father having defended a famous murderer (OJ)? Kim conned companies to pay 18 million for her athlete wedding, which lasted about two minutes. Now Kim and Kanye are outdoing royalty: BIG DEAL! We just need to let them be notoriety hogs, while the rest of us go on with real lives. ‘nuf said.
I found it hilarious that she made it know she did not want it to be big and lavish like her 2nd marriage, of course the other stars went to that one it was televised, Either way 600 guests does not sound intimate at all.
It was great to see how unimportant these two really are. And those who kid themselves about how they didn’t care who came to their wedding…seriously? Be real please, these two clowns only project how full of themselves they are, and act so superficial. It probably killed them that no one famous in pop culture came to their wedding…it was just full of sad D-listers and wannabes. Suits them right.

Weddings are about 2 people vowing to spend the rest of their live together in front of GOD, FAMILY and FRIENDS not “A List Celebrities”! And just for your information, Valentino is a LEGEND in the fashion world and he not only attended their wedding but hosted their pre wedding party as well. every hater should go kick rocks and leave Kim & Kanye ALONE!

Im not quite sure whoever wrote this article knew who was actually on the list cuz even a famous Magician was there and besides Beyonce and Jay Z are A-List to some. John Legend singing was much more appropriate

Talley was there because he was doing a story for Vogue.com. Valentino was there because Tisci begged him to go and they bought a crapload of his product. Besides, who cares who they got to attend? Normal people don’t care if they can name-drop at their wedding – they invite friends and family. Sorry for these narcissistic people and their never-ending self-promotion.
And you know that Tisci begged Valentino how exactly…? A lot of people buy a crapoload of Valentino and still don’t have him at their wedding. Who bad to beg him to host everyone for lunch before the weddings I wonder. Is it that hard to believe that people went just to celebrate their love?
