Robert Pattinson Looking Forward to Looking Ugly

Robert Pattinson

Robert Pattinson looked forward to looking ugly in a movie. He has two movies coming out very soon, and one of those has seen him sporting crooked teeth and a dirty look. The Rover is seen as his redefining role, and also shows his diverse acting skills.

The Twlight star has taken a number of months out of being in the limelight. He recently admitted that it was a conscious effort to step away from the tabloids and gossip papers, and get back to doing something that he loves. After playing the role of Edward Cullen, the 28-year-old actor found himself as many a girl’s dream boyfriend. All eyes were on him, and he became conscious of having his photograph taken. Before that, he was known for a virtually small role in the Harry Potter franchise that saw him introduced and killed off within one movie, and that was pretty much it.

The Rover is a post-apocalyptic movie that sees Pattinson play a gang member who joins up with a former soldier. The two work together for Guy Pearce’s character to retrieve his stolen car, his last Earthly possession, and they travel across Australia. It sees Pattinson dress grimy, and he looks nothing like the former century-old vampire in the Twilight Saga.

The film led to him gaining a trip to Cannes Festival. The last time he was there was in 2012 for his role in Cosmpolis, and it has been an aim ever since to get to Cannes with every movie he has done. His belief is that Cannes is the perfect place for movie promotion, and it is the best place to show off his acting abilities.

Pattinson was looking forward to looking ugly and dishevelled in his latest film. It was a chance for the actor to have no reason to stop and pose, and acknowledges that anyone does that when they get the chance.

He has certainly proven his abilities since leaving the Breaking Dawn set. Pearce was so surprised that he could not help but comment about the acting abilities to the director of The Rover.

The decision to take on the smaller roles and a step back from mainstream movies has certainly been beneficial. He is happier and has more of a personal life. After Twilight he was constantly in the media, especially due to his relationship with on-screen and off-screen love interest Kristen Stewart. It is a conscious effort to keep his private light away from the paparazzi, and the best way to do that is cut off relationships with those who prefer the limelight, and reduce the number of large roles that he takes on.

There are no reboots of the vampire movie in the making, and Pattinson has made it clear that he does not want to reprise his role. While that has made fans of the franchise sad, it means that he can concentrate on other movies. He can further his career, and focus on roles that will help him grow as he gets older. He can also take on more diverse roles, and that is something he has done with The Rover. Pattinson was certainly looking forward to his uglier role, and is excited to see how others react.
