The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong found love again with lawyer John Bluher. The couple married last month in Bel Air, Calif. The duo started dating in 2012, and announced their engagement a year later in August. Bluher proposed to Armstrong while on vacation in Punta Mita.
Before marrying Bluher, Armstrong was married to her late husband Russell Armstrong until their divorce in 2011. During their separation, Armstrong went into details about the abuse that went on in her relationship with her former partner. “He grabbed my neck and shoved me against the wall,” she said during an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “And he said, ‘If you ever make my children a pizza without a vegetable again, I’ll kill you.”
During the sit-down with Entertainment Tonight, Armstrong provided photos of herself in the hospital after the physical altercation with her late husband. The reality TV star also admitted to having underwent a surgery to fix a broken membrane in her eye. She has a titanium mesh implant holding up her right pupil as a result of the abuse she endured during her first marriage. Armstrong claimed she had been verbally and physically abused throughout their six-year relationship. “He was so angry about everything,” a close friend said about Armstrong’s late husband’s behavior.
Shortly after news of their divorce and domestic abuse went public, Armstrong took his own life. He hung up himself Aug. 15, 2011. He was found my his landlord. According to the coroner who handled the case, he was depressed about his failed marriage and financial problems. He was a former venture capitalist. At the time, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star told their daughter, who was five years old at the time, that “Daddy got sick and died.”
Since finding love again with Bluher, Armstrong revealed that now 8-year-old daughter Kennedy is well aware of what happened to her father. She also discussed taking her daughter to see a psychologist. “Whether it was her overhearing something…but I get the impression that she knows it was by his own hand,” Armstrong said.
The Bravo Alum married April 9 at the Bel-Air Bay Club. The 42-year-old wore a strapless Chagoury Couture gown. Some guests who were in attendance included former cast members Kyle Richards, Kim Richards and Faye Resnick. Brandi Glanville was the only Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-star who was not invited to the ceremony.
Armstrong’s second chance at love comes with some complications. Since the nuptials, Bluher has been in the process of adopting the reality TV star’s daughter. The couple also have plans to return to Los Angeles. Currently, they reside in Vail, Colorado. Before tying the knot, the duo had a brief stint on the VH1 television show, Couples Therapy. Armstrong has expressed her desires to try her hand at acting. “I’ve auditioned for some scripted things,” she said. “I don’t know that they were the perfect role, but I’m just trying to get that under my belt, because it’s new to me.”
