The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon featured some fantastic guests this Friday, January 16, 2015. Fallon’s guests were journalist Brian Williams and actress Victoria Justice. Also, announcer Steve Higgins, Victoria Justice and Fallon “took a shot,” later in the episode. Joshua Ryan Topolsky showed Jimmy Fallon hot tech gadgets from the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Fallon also did his weekly “Thank You Notes,” comedy bit.
Tonight Show host, Jimmy Fallon, began by doing his comedy monologue. He cracked jokes about topics in the news, like the former CEO of Hewlett Packard considering running as a Republican candidate. He mentioned Senator Huckabee criticizing the Obamas for allowing their daughters to listen to Beyonce.
Then, he did his weekly “Tonight Show Superlatives.” James Carpenter, for instance, was Voted Most Likely to Flip the “Open” sign to “Closed” When Entering an Outback Steakhouse. Marshawn Lynch was Voted Most Likely to Think That Everyone Had a Twin Brother or Sister. Michael Bennet was Voted Most Likely to Look Both Ways Before Crossing the Street Without Having to Turn His Head.
The house band, The Roots, played Jimmy Fallon to his desk. He said that they would have a week of shows from Los Angeles after their special Super Bowl show.
Fallon next did his weekly “Thank You Notes.” Some were “Thank you, Academy Awards President, for pronouncing Dick Pope as Dick Poop, or as John Travolta put it, ‘Thank you.'”
“Thank you, Benedict Cumberbatch for sounding less like a movie star and more like what people would order for brunch.”
“Thank you, Metal Scoopers, for signaling that you’re about to receive either delicious ice cream, or Subway tuna salad.”
Jimmy Fallon introduced his first guest, Brian Williams. Brian is one of Fallon’s favorite guests, as Jimmy uses clips from his newscasts and creates rap songs from them.
“At my house, you couldn’t have dinner until Conkrite was over,” Williams said. He called his mom “the bride at every wedding and the corpse at every funeral,” adding “She had a lot of faith in me.”
“You have to be so proud of your daughter,” Fallon said. Allison Williams, his daughter, was Peter Pan in the NBC production this past December.
Fallon congratulated Williams for being chosen to be in the New Jersey Hall of Fame. Bruce Springsteen inducted him, “and gave a great speech,” Williams said.
Jimmy Fallon then introduced Victoria Justice. “We’ve known each other for a long time, and I hadn’t even realized it,” Jimmy Fallon said. He showed a photo from 2005, showing Justice as a young girl before she even had a role on Nickelodeon.
They talked about impressions that they could do. She said that she loved Fallon’s impersonation of Adam Sandler, and she said she could do one of Dwayne “the Rock’ Johnson, but just the eyebrow part, where he raises his eyebrows.
Eye Candy is based on an R.L. Stine book. Justice plays a girl called Lindsey, who “is a computer hacker.” Justice said her friend in the show develops an app called “Flirtual.” She has someone stalking her as a result.
“The last time you were here you were 20,” Fallon said. She was 21 now, so Fallon offered her a shot to drink, Strippers on Acid. There were three shot glasses on a ski (he called the drinks “shotskis”), and she, Fallon, and Steve Higgins drank them at the same time.
Joshua Topolsky showed Fallon a device called “The Vibe,” used to take Selfies. He then showed the new Sony Walkman for playing music, the ZX2. It has 128 gigs of storage. It cost $1,200 to buy one.
Among the other devices he brought was “a Lamborghini phone,” he said. “It runs Android, it has a camera like a phone. It’s $6,300.”
The last device was “a robot that plays Beer Pong.” He said “It grips the ball tightly, any ball you put under it.” The robot got a Ping Pong ball in Fallon’s cup, and Fallon had to drink. The second ball was headed for one of Fallon’s cups, but he swatted it away.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon was fantastic this Friday night. Fallon’s guests were Brian Williams, Victoria Justice, and Joshua Ryan Topolsky. Williams talked about his mom, his daughter appearing in Peter Pan Live!, and having been inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame. Victoria talked about the first time she had met Jimmy Fallon, and her latest show, Eye Candy. The last guest on the Tonight Show, Joshua Topolsky, demonstrated the latest in tech gadgets from the Consumer Electronics Show.
