Robert Guerrero Fight Against Aron Martinez on Saturday [Preview]

Boxers Robert Guerrero, Aron Martinez, Dominic “Trouble” Breazeale, Yasmany Consuegra, Jesus Cuellar, Vic Darchinyan, Alfredo Angulo and Oscar Molina took part in a Media Workouts Day on Wednesday at Wild Card West Boxing Gym in Santa Monica. On Saturday June 6, on the Premier Boxing Champions on NBC event, at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT, the four boxing matches will be a Must See event for boxing fans. The event will be held in Los Angeles at the StubHub Center.

The first bout will be a heavyweight showdown featuring Dominic “Trouble” Breazeale, who has a perfect record of 17 wins and zero losses, with 13 of his victories coming by KO, going against the challenger, Yasmany Consuegra, who has a similar unblemished record of 17 wins and no losses, with 14 of his victories coming by KOs of his opponents. One of the two will have to include a loss in his record by the end of their fight.

The first fight should be great, but it is not even being called the headlining event. The headlining boxing match, which will follow later, is shaping up to also be a terrific match-up. Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero will be going against his challenger, Aron Martinez.

Former four-division world champion Guerrero has a record of 32-3-1, with 18 of his wins coming by KO. Martinez has a similar record, of 19-3-1, but with just 4 KOs to his credit.

The live boxing event, which will be telecast by NBC, is promoted by TGB Promotions. Tickets are priced from $25 up to $200 and are on sale now. They can be purchased online at

At the Media Workouts Day event, the boxers discussed the upcoming boxing matches. Guerrero said that he has “trained very hard” for the fight and he called it “a unique event starting so early.”

Guerrero stated that he will “never take another fighter lightly” after his last loss. He added that he was “sure” that Martinez will “be ready for a real fight,” and said that he would like “to fight three-four times per year, every year.” Guerrero also stated that he will not “leave the fans disappointed.”

Martinez sounded confident that he will end up being victorious. He stated that the fight is “going to be a war,” and he said that he will “show everybody who I am.”

Martinez mentioned that he knew “how tough of a fighter Robert is,” but he said that “I’m ready to test whatever skills he has,” and he stated that his “power will surprise” Guerrero.

The boxers who will be featured in the first match on Saturday at the StubHub Center also had some quotable statements to make. Breazeale said that he will “need to put pressure on him early” and he added that “the key is to focus on what I do best.”

Doing a bit of trash-talking, Breazeale said that when he is “done” with his opponent, Consuegra will “be 17-1.” He stated that he wants to go “for an early-round knockout” and he said that he wants “to keep the fans on the edge of their seats.”

Yasmany Consuegra stated that he was “very prepared for this fight” and that he felt “strong and ready for this challenge.” He also mentioned that he had been “part of the national team in Cuba” and stated that he was “not worried about any hype leading into this fight.”  guerrero

In a third boxing match, Jesus Cuellar of Argentina will take on Vic Darchinyan. Cuellar said that he will first fight against Darchinyan, then he wants to fight against either “Leo Santa Cruz or Abner Mares.” He said that he has “trained hard” and stated that he was going to “showcase my talent for all of Argentina.”

Vic Darchinyan mentioned that he has “much more experience” and he claimed that, on Saturday, he “will demolish this kid.” He reminded everyone at Media Workouts Day that he “was a champion for many years” and he added that he “will show everyone that I’m still capable on Saturday.”

The fourth boxing match before the main event will be Alfredo “The Dog” Angulo facing Oscar Molina. Angulo said that he was “very excited to be back in the ring.” He mentioned that he had gotten married recently and that he was looking “forward to becoming a champion again.”

Oscar Molina stated that he had gotten over an injury to his left shoulder and he said that he was “excited to go out and perform.” Molina stated that he did not “know much about” Angulo, but he believed that he will set the pace and will be “fighting my fight on Saturday.”

The four boxing matches on the Premier Boxing Champions on NBC event this Saturday, June 6, will be earlier than most boxing matches; but, they are shaping up to be Must See T.V. for boxing fans. In particular, the heavyweight boxing match between Dominic “Trouble” Breazeale and Yasmany Consuegra and the headlining fight between Robert Guerrero and Aron Martinez will be the ones to watch.
