‘Sisters’ Is an Outrageous Romp of Frivolity [Preview]

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are at it again. Their newest movie, Sisters, will be on the big screen Christmas Day 2015. Fey and Poehler are joined by Kate McKinnon in this upcoming R-rated comedy. Sisters is an outrageous romp of frivolity and will keep viewers laughing.

The trailer begins with Fey and Poehler coming toward one another and saying, “it’s a sisters’ reunion.” Together, they are returning to their childhood home. When the girls arrive at the house, they discover a sold sign. Fey kicks the sign down and proceeds to throw a tantrum on the lawn.

Inside the house, their mom, played by Dianne Wiest, tells the sisters, “All we need you to do is clean your room.” The scene shows their dad, played by James Brolin, and Wiest standing in the hall, then the camera pans to the disastrous mess in the bedroom.

Later, Fey, who is billed as “the other sister,” convinces Poehler, “the perfect sister,” to say goodbye to the house by having a party. There are scenes showing various stages of preparing for the party. From inviting guests to going shopping, the women cover all the bases. The girls shop for food, supplies, and party clothes. When the sisters are trying on clothes, it is clear they do not have a clue about what is in fashion since they put the clothes on backward and every which way.

The house is decorated and the party begins. There is a disco ball and disco dancing. In one scene, Fey is flirting with a heavily tattooed John Cena of WWE fame. During the party, everything is going fine; until it is not. The party guests end up destroying the house. Then, the police show up. Sisters is an outrageous romp of frivolity, silly, giddy, and suggestive are words that could describe this movie.
