As reported by WKRC Channel 12 on April 19, 2017, their main sports anchor, Brad Steinke, is leaving his position after two years. The network, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, is in search of someone with plenty of experience who can create social media content online to replace Steinke.
In the fall of 2014, the station’s managers moved Brad Johnson from sports anchor back to the news desk. Steinke was hired for the position and started on April 6, 2015.
Steinke came to Channel 12 with a good background for the job he was hired to do. He graduated from Southern Utah University in 1983. He started his television profession as a sports anchor and reporter at KTXS in Abilene, Texas. Steinke then spent 19 years in Arizona as an anchor and Fox Sport’s post-game host and in-game reporter for the Arizona Diamondbacks telecast.
The seasoned anchor also worked for WAMI in Miami, Florida, as an anchor, hosting the 30-minute “Sportstown” show. The Salt Lake native also did pre and post game shows for the Miami Heat and Florida Marlins telecasts.
Steinke is an eleven-time Emmy Award winner and won for best sports anchor in the Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Science in 2003, 2005, and 2006. It is not known why Steinke is leaving his post at Channel 12 at this time.
